Revision as of 04:23, 5 November 2011 by Kohkl88 (Talk | 2011 June 24 13th.Jul.11. (Wed.) 2305hrs. Went to TNB hq. at Melawati to settle the electricity deposit for the JMB P4D1. Stayed home until time for the evening walk. Actually went to the Popular Book Store to just look see for any new things happening or not. 15th.Jul.11. (Fri.) 2035hrs. Went to University Hospital for eye check. It is found that both eyes are very ok, the next check will be six months from today. Heavy rain prevented me for my evening walk, otherwise the day was just as normal. 17th.Jul.11. (Sun.) 2045hrs. Just came back from FH after spending a night there. The surounding is very well maintained now since taken over by the JMB. Due to lack of funds the buildings need facelift badly and urgently. 20th.Jul.ll. (Wed.) 1050hrs. Just wonder who was the first guy who used the word 'golden age' for the old people. How can it be golden age while the old people have to see the doctors so frequently for so many kinds of illness. In this month alone I have been to UH for my eyes, the dentist and yesterday to the clinic for the result of the blood test. Luckily there is not much of a big problem. Is that what is 'golden age'. It must be kidding?! 23rd.Jul.ll. (Sat.) 2130hrs. The good news is Lai Changxing the greatest Chinese smuggler is on his way home after escaping arrest for 12yrs by living in Canada. The bombing and shooting in Norway will wake up the Norvegians I hope otherwise they are very complacent and creat mischief to others from time to time. 25th.Jul.ll. (Mon.) 1905hrs. Went to Midvalley this morning by train. Bought some imported biscuits from Mark and Spancer. Went to MPH to look at the latest issue of the Chinese English and English Chinese dictionary. Didn't buy any. I already have a smaller version one. I am glad that Col. Gadaffi is still in Lybia, let the Nato nations that take part in the bombing of Lybia bomb themselves into bankcrupcy. Just don't let them win easily. 28th.Jul.ll. (Fri.) 0013hrs. Yesterday stayed at home except going for the evening walk. Watched the CNTV and surfed the net. Glad to know that the Chinese submesible ship can reach the dept of 5188m. The Chinese is also trying to outfit a aircraft carrier for training. It is better to be late than never. The KMT gov. in Taiwan is waiting for their foreign uncle to up-grade their warplanes as it has always been. lst.Jul.11. (Mon) 0430hrs. I am waiting anxiously to see what will be the US debt ceiling voting result. 2nd.Jul.11. (Tue.) 2315hrs. As expected the result of the debt-ceiling drama is always ended undramatically as any other issues. All that debates and arguments are for show only. More debts will be more troubles waiting ahead. Once it is in debt it is difficult to be solvent again. 6th.Jul.11. (Sat.) 2115hrs. Actually, there seems to be nothing worthy to write about. Life have been going on normally. The morning exercise and the evening walk is never missed. 10th.Jul.11. (Wed.) 1255hrs. Now that the flame is burning in their own backyard, so let us see how they handle the situation. Do you remember the torch grabbing for the Beijing Olympic, how gleeful they were? 11th.Jul.11. (Thu.) 2250hrs. The BBC is really great, with the riot in its own country it still has the time to worry about famous Chinese artist Mr. Ai Wei Wei with the title "Artist Ai 'felt close to death.' There are a lot of articles about their own social problems. So mind your problems before you laugh at other people. 20th.Aug.ll. (Sat) Wow! had been lasy for nine days but actually there is nothing fresh to write about. The whole world is bore. The war in Lybia is still going on, the most interesting thing is that they are not shooting at the human enemy but to the thin air. I presume that they don't kill but to make a lot of noise to frighten the enemy. They dressed in singlet and don't carry any ration or ammo. They don't take aim but just shoot blankly into the opposit side. You don't see any man or soldier being killed. The news from the foreign news agency is comical. Kol. Gaddafi's sons had been killed so many times but still appearing. The NATO has got another month to drop their bombs then it will depend whether they still can afford to carry on or not. 24th.Aug.11. (Wed.) 1240hrs. Does it matter who win, afterall the people who died were Libyans and the survivours will have to work to pay for the bombs and ammo given to win the hulaha - the Libyans. The real winners are the people who hid behind the screen. Pity isn't it? 6th.Sep.ll. (Tue.) 1005hrs. Went to Zhangjianjie (central part of China) for an eight days tour, from 28th. Aug. to 4th. Sep.. In between visited MZT's former house, his Stone Statue in Shaoshan village. I took a round walk and paid a three bows respect to the statute. The main attraction is the rocky formations in the park. Both of us climbed the famour 999 steps to reach the heaveny stone gate. The steps are just like the normal staircase steps. Quite a number of people who are younger than we are were scared to do it. From Changsha city to Zhangjiajie where the rocky park is is about three hundred over miles apart, along the way I was gled to see the new brick houses, the padi field was covered with golden ripe padi and various greenery. The highway is smooth and the whole length of the road is covered with trees and well-kept shrubs in the middle of the roads. In my heart I can feel the dynamism of China. Talk of Changsha city, it has a special meaning to me because it was mentioned in the book 'Defeat into Victory' by Field-Marshal Viscount Slim that the only victory for China from the long Sino-Japanese war during the WWll was in the battle of Changsha city. Of course this is only his own opinion. He was the commander of the allied forces in Burma at that time. 2011/09/10 Good writing. Interesting to hear your thinking. Aik-Siong llth.Sep.ll (Sun.) 1030hrs. Today is a very good day, it is cloudy and so it is not hot. It rains for a while in the evening but it did not prevent me from my evening walk at the Metropolitan park. Indeed it is a very good Sep.ll. It should be more of the Sep.ll days. 15th.Sep.11. (Thu.) 2205hrs. It is foolish to believe that the Libyans are free now, the real victors are the bombs and ammunitions suppliers. They are the people who will have the total free hands to set the stage for next episodes of events. episodes of events to come. 20th.Sep.ll. (Tue.) 2240hrs. The weather is kinder now, it is not so hot and humid. The North-East monsoon is already here. It rains practically everyday, either in the evening or morning. Well, life is normal for me. Knowing a lot of the world affairs from the internet. The West is in deep trouble with the national debts. They had been showing off with their luxurious lifestyle to the world with the borrowed money and now it is hard for them to pay back the debts. 22nd.Sep.ll. (Thu.) 2135hrs. The weather is splendid. It is cloudy and cool. Poor Chinese KMT in Taiwan, they are still at their old ways. They are jubilant at being able to buy arms from their old time uncle to kill their own kind. They even seek approval for their presidential election. Just wonder since when the Chinese had been so disgraceful. 27th.Sep.ll. (Wed.) 1120hrs. The morning is cool and bright. Last night was a dog-barking free night because the three young strays were taken away by the Bandaraya dog catchers. In Malaysia it is a trend that most of the Chinese households will keep one dog or may be more and that because some dogs are kept behind the fence and some are free to roam around so there will be a lot of barking going on. In the evening the dogs that are kept behind fences make speicial noises and barkings. I am a Chinese but I do not like to keep dogs because I do not want spending time to care of them. I want to spend time on my own. Strangely enough I did not see any dogs running around in the streets in China. Another interesting thing is I did not see any birds flying in the sky or on the trees even in the wooded area. I have noticed this on my many trips that I have been to China. I am sure you might have guessed the answer in my mind. 29th.Sep.11. (Thu.) 2333hrs. In the morning part went to attend the funeral of a member of Gao Assn. He died of kidney failure at age of 56. Watched the whole process of the space lab Tiangong l launch in CNTV from 2100hrs to about 2140hrs when it was announced that it is successful. Switched to BBC just to confirm how fast is the BBC, true enough it was there in its web site with a sourish head line "Tiangong-l launch betrays China's earthly ambitions". I do not really understand what the white men try to mean. But not a word is mentioned in the ll pm world news in MTV l in Malaysia. 10th.Nov.ll. (Thu.) 0920hrs. The day is fine. Went to JMB office for a while and went for the evening walk. Get ready to go to S,pore early in the morning by bus to attend the S'pore GAO association's 63th. anniversary celebration dinner. We have 10 members to attend. The S'pore GAO association was established in l948 before the separation and therefore it was the only association to represent the GAO clansmen in the then Malaya. My father was a member of the association. It is called Koh association because GAO is pronounced in Hokkien dialect as Koh. I remember my father was issued with a membership certificate and it was burnt when he passed away because it is believed that whatever belongs to him must be burnt to follow him. When I am there I will try to trace as to whether any record to this effect is still being held by the assn.. 14th.Nov.ll. (Mon.) 2140hrs. The 60th. celebration dinner was great, there were plenty of singing and the women section presented lovly dances. They must have put in a lot of hard work. Mum and EM spent the whole Sat. on shopping while I roam around the see more of the Singapore. Spent the Sunday morning to look for Koh assn. premise and finally found it. Spent about half an hour there taking some pictures and found there is no record of my father's membership. Went round the waterfront and took 4.30pm bus home. Worthy of note was Heng Jin donated S$10,000 to the S'pore Koh assn. that night. The joke was he asked me to announce it to the audience, instead I announced it as one hunder dollars so it was put right immediately by their president. 21st.Nov.11. (Mon.) 1950hrs. This evening is special, it is not raining. Went for morning walk because scared that it may rain in the evening. Went to town for a walk about to pass time. 22nd.Nov.ll. (Tue.) 2055hrs. Went to Batu Cave with mum, maid and Lip Wern and spent about three hours there and went to Kepong for roast-duck lunch. He wanted to go there to shoot at the monkeys with the toy gun. But then when we were he took pity on the monkeys and did not shoot them at all instead he tried to scare the pigeons and shot at them playfully. After lunch his mother came to take him home. By the way we took the train to Batu Cave and it was quite an enjoyable afternoon. It rained in the evening but I went to the Tmn. Rainbow for my evening excise for about thirty five mins. when the rain stopped at about seven. 24th.Nov.11. (Thu.) 2315hrs. Today is a fine day, there was no rain at all. Life is quiet for all of us. We went to have an Indian curry lunch at the Tmn Mastiara and went for an evening walk as usual. Mum is getting ready to go to Hatnyai with the Han gang because they feel that they should all get together once in a while. They will start going at 6.30 tomorrow morning and return on Sunday night. 28th.Nov.ll. (Mon.) 1910hrs. I have been living single life for the past three days while mum and maid went to Hatnya in Thailand. The rain is stopping me from going for an evening walk. Yesterday evening was the same, the monsoon rain is in its full force now. In the morning part went to Putrajaya by bus and took the innercity bus to go round the city for fifty sens only. The bus is going round the town to serve the residents to move place to place within the town. The town is well planned and it is kept very clean and tidy. Sorry I am still nor sure whether Putrajaya is a city or town. lst.Dec.ll. (Thu.) 2245hrs. Normal day wirhout any worthwhile event to write about. 4th.Dec.11. (Sun.) 0530hrs. 2.12.ll. (Fri.) Went to Machap to attend my grandpa's great grand son's wedding dinner. It was a grand dinner and we drove back after the dinner at 10pm and reach KL at 2am. My grandpa's son grew up with me but the rest of the family was not known to me until very lately. Last night that was 3.12.ll, went to attend Loke assn. 39th. anniversary. 7th.Dec.ll. (Wed.) 2240hrs. It rains daily but it does not cause big problems. Life goes on as usual. Tomorrow night we will be attending another assn. dinner to be held in a Chinese school hall at Sentul. I think this will be the last assn. dinner for 2011. 9th.De.ll. (Fri.) 1625hrs. No rain up to this point of time, it may suddenly start thundering and pour with rain. Went to JPJ with mum this morning and to the management office for a while. Last night attended the "The Federation of Malaysia Chinese Surname Associations" lst. annual aniversary dinner. It is the mother of all the surname associations in this country. I think this is a good idea so that we have a leader to co-ordinate and initiate all the conducive activities. 12th.Dec.ll. (Mon.) 2145hrs. Fine day. Read newspapers and surfed the net. Knew a lot of the world affairs. The EU seems to have agreed on the solutions to solve their economic problems except to see the end results to come. Iran seems to have the technical know-how to capture the pilotless plance from their enemy. I hope they really have it so that the super power can be checked for their wrecklessness. 15th.Dec.ll. (Thu.) 1900hrs. It is raining now so cannot go for a walk. Yesterday evening also rained but it stopped at about this time, it made my shoes wet when I insisted in walking. According to the news report it flooded the Bt. Bintang and Cheras area. So far the monsoon rain has not done a lot of damage in the country. 18th.Dec.11. (Sun.) 1700hrs. Cloudy day but without rain. Non-eventful Friday and Saturday except that we took Mei Wah and her husband to a Chineses restaurant dinner in Jinjang. We fetched them from EM's house and sent them back by train from our Batu Kentonman station after the dinner at 2244hrs because the train go straight from here to Subang Jaya station. They rang up to say that they have arrived at about 0hrs. 24th.Dec.11. (Sat.) 1815hrs. It had been peaceful and quiet for the past 5 days. Nothing special to write about. It has been cloudy but fine day. No evening walk for this evening because we are waitting for Lip Wern to come to celebrate his birthday as well as the X'mas. Strangely enough we don't hear any X'mas songs and music at all. Not like before we could feel X'mas is coming with the X'mas songs and hymn in the air. It is like the CNY without the firecrackers. 31st.Dec.ll. (Sat.) 0500hrs. Xmas had come and gone. As nomal we did nothing special except the usual turkey dinner with the family members only on Thursday night (29th.Dec.ll.). 3rd.Jan.12. (Tue.) 2135hrs. Went up to Fraser's Hill on lst.Jan.12. for two nights. The place is well maintained by the JMB except that the whole compleks should be completely re-white washed otherwise it looks terrible. It is not done because the unit owners are not paying their dues. Hope that with the present JMB's conserted effort to collect the dues from the unit owners, the resort will be put to its proper conditions. 8th.Jan.12 (Sun.) 2240hrs. It had not rained for about two weeks so the weather is very stuffy and hot. It is not very comfortable for our daily life. Life had been pretty normal for the last five days. 14th.Jan.12. (Sat.) 1045hrs. It is a lovely morning. It is fine, the sun is not too hot and the air is cool. Got up at six in the morning and went to the Tmn Rainbow's small park for exercise because I missed the evening walk yesterday due to raining. Surfed the net and learnt that the Euro crisis is appearing again and the situation between Iran and the West is very quiet. I think this is so-called the lull before the storm. 27th.Jan.12. (Fri.) 2300hrs. Luckily, went to Tmn. Rainbow for the morning exercise because it rained in the evening so it prevented me from going my evening walk. As I drove out of the gate a police patrol car was at the back of me. It signaled me to stop. I stopped and asked why, was told that my road tax has expired. True enough I had been driving without insurance and road tax since Nov. 20ll. I asked them to let me off for RM50 otherwise I will have to pay RM600.00 fine. So, that is how it goes, both of us benefitted. The question is how do they know that my road taxed had expired as they were driving behind me. That is the magic. However I have no bone to grind. Stayed home for the rest of the day surfing the net and reading the newspapers. 29th.Jan.12. (Sun.) 0250hrs. Actually I wanted to write before I went to bed last night but the internet failed to function. Luckily I went for a long morning walk yesterday morning because it rained heavily in the evening. Peter and EM came at about 1130hrs and Peter gave me and PP a RM1,000 ang pow each. EM had given the ang pows earlier. I went to lunch at the batu tiga coffee shop because mum had gone for lunch with her friends. Napped and stayed at home for the rest of the evening due to the raining. 30th.Jan.12. (Mon.) 2200hrs. Went to renew the insurance and road tax and spent the rest of the morning roaming the city. The city is still half asleep not until day after tomorrow after the ninth day of the lunar calendar. Beside that life is as normal. I went to the city by bus and returned by train. 31st.Jan.12. (Tue.) 2325hrs. Today is the nineth day of the Chinese New Year and it is the Hokkian people's new year day. Last night was their new year eve and therefore they let off a lot of firecrackers to welcome the big day. The noise continues right up to 2am. It rained heavily from 5am right up to about 6.30am. So the whole day was cloudy and the air was quite cool. Went to the JMB office to see if there is anything for me to do. That wraps up my day. lst.Feb.12. 2225hrs. 1st. of Feb. is the Wilayah Day and therefore it is a holiday. Dare not venture out of the area where we live because the city will be crowded with the foreign workers. Went to Batu Cave by train for my evening exercise by climbing the 272 steps up and down. It is crowded there because they are preparing for the Thaipusum festival on the 6th. of this month. They are putting up the tents, installing the lamp posts etc.etc.. Some early whoshippers are doing their praying before the actual date in order to avoid the maddening crowd. 2nd.Feb.12. (Thu.) 2110hrs. Tried on the sky-walk around the Jln. Perak area connecting various high rise buildings and ending up at the Pavilian complex and the convention hall. That area is newly built up area in the golden triangle. The sky-walk is like a big container-like structure built above the ground with air-con for pedestrians to walk with comfort. The rain stopped me for about half an hour to reach the KL railway station to board the train. After boarding the train it moved slowly with several stops on the way and when it reached the Sentul station the passengers were told to come down to wait for another train to take them to Batu Cave without any explaination. The waiting took about forty five minutes when the train came from Batu Cave to take us to Batu Cave. The reason was the train was running on one track because there was some repare work being carried out on the other line. By the time I reached home it was alredy four forty five. I was really dead tired. Had a bath, had a cup of Chinese tea then watched my favorite CCTV4 programme from 5 to 6pm and had a 45mins nap and had the dinner and back to normal again. 4th.Feb.12. (Sat.) 2130hrs. I do not know why I was so tired last. I was so sleepy that I went to bed at about 9.30pm. Slept well for the night and got up 6am. Went to the Tmn. Rainbow small park for exercise at about 7am for about one hour. I don't like the park there because it is small and the people there are all regulars so u keep on seeing them and the next thing is the barking dogs. It is really anonying, since the residents there are more well off so they buy bigger dogs so that they bark louder. It is status symbol that kind of thing. Went to the JMB office to make out a cheque for the electricity bill and after that went to Mamak coffee shop for a tea tarek and a roti chanai for lunch. As for the rest of the day just stayed home. Since today is Saturday so life is at its laziest point. 5th.Feb.12. Sun. 2330hrs. The biggest event of today is the GAO association CNY celebration. EM and I attended it without mum as she had other programme with her group of friends. I donated RM100, EM donated RM80.00 and Heng Jin asked me to donate RM200.00 for him while he is away in S'pore. There was quite a big crowd. The programme started from lpm until 3pm. Of course ang pow for the children is a must and the lucky draws and quessing games for the attendents were also arranged. The food were fried mee, fried meehoom, chicken curry and one or two other tib bits plus an assortment of fruits of course with the mandarine oranges. The party went on quite happily with everybody smiling away till the end. The next big event was we went round the lake at the Taman Metropolitan for our evening walk. It took us a solid one hour walk. 7th.Feb.12. (Tue.) 2125hrs. How nice? yesterday was Prophet Mohd's birthday, it was a holiday. Stayed home until in the evening went to Lake Garden for evening walk and had a mamak fried mee and mutton matabab for dinner. The maid was taken away by EM to help her in preparation of the NYC party in her house. Today is Thaipusum day and it is a holiday too. Went to EM's house for lunch on the left over of the last night party. After lunch EM and mum went for their own programme while I went for a foot massage. I was very tired and had a nap for about one hour. No evening exercise. 9th.Feb.12. (Thu.) 0705hrs.(Note: this event is for 8th.Feb.12) It was very crowded in the govt. clinic at the Kg. Batu, it took me three hours to see the doctor for my normal check up. The reason was due to the holiday on Wed. The result of the check-up was normal. The next check-up will be in four months time. 10th.Feb.12. (Fri.) 2330hrs. Yesterday, that was Thursday, morning went to JMB office to check on the clerk's performance. Received a complaint from one of the unit owners that a water tank from the roof top is over flowing. The problem was fixed by 6pm. This morning went to see Heng Jin and also to collect the RM200.00 that I paid for him for the CNY do held by the GAO assn. last Sunday as he was away from KL on that day. Reached home is already 2pm and what followed was a daily rutine for me.)
(Start Here Pa. 18th.Apr.12. (Wed.) 2230hrs. Went to town by bus to survey the Chinese writing brush and papers to practise writing the grandchildren's Chinese names. I plan to write their Chinese names on drawing papers myself to give them as souvenir when they come in May. Otherwise they will never know their names in Chinese. What the effect will ultimate imprint unto them is left to be seen. 20th.Apr.12. (Fri.) 2200hrs. Let me continue with the Colonel's story. Arrived home after a week's holiday in the East Coast, as our car stopped at the gate I saw him curled up sound asleep in the porch. I called his name softly but there was no response, so I called his name lounder, he suddenly lift up his head to listen and turned his head to look at the direction where the sound came from and lo he saw me standing there and instantly ran to me and put his fore legs on me with his tail waging vigourously as if he was embracing me and making the gesture of kissing my body. Obviously he was very very happy to see again. How he must have felt during my absence I could not fathom. It touched me deeply and till today I still can reflect on the scene vividly. 22nd.Apr.12. (Sun.) 1945hrs. A sunny and hot Sunday. At 1200hrs the swearing-in ceremony for the Gao assn. was held in a restaurant near the assn. building. The past presidents of the assn. were invited to witness the ceremony. Heng Jin, his wife and son Peng Guan were present. Heng Jin donated RM10,000 to the assn. Actually we plan to give him a 81th. birthday party but he turned it down by saying that he never celebrate his birthday, so he think that it is not necessary to have one for the 81th. birthday as well. In response to the good gesture he donated the money. The whole process of the swearing-in ceremony went off smoothly and everyone present was happy. It cost the assn. nearly RM1,500. After the lunch we adjourned to the assn. to hold the first committee members meeting for the new set of committee members. We set out the new tasks to be carried out for 2012. We decided to have our annual lunch to solicit funds on 9th. of November 2012. The meeting ended at 5pm. 25th.APr.12. (Wed.) 2135hrs. Have been busy preparing the statements of account for second quarter of 2012 for P4D1. Other than that there was nothing worthwhile to note down. The problem we have is the large amount of debts. Yet the relevant authority is not coming out strongly to help to collect the amount due. Well, there is no use of complaining. We just slog on from day to day to the best of our ability. 2nd.May.12. (Wed.) 1435hrs. Went for a 3 days 2 nithts tour of S'pore and Batam island of Indonesia from 27th. - 30th. of Apr. There was nothing great to see in Batam island really. Except the high rise hotels the rest of the town is just like the Malaysian kampongs. There is no luxuriou restaurants to cater for either Europeon or Chinese foods to talk about. There is no sunny and sandy beaches. So I just wonder what people go there for. For us we just want to satisfied our curiosity since there is a lot of reports of happenings on the island in the press. We passed a night in a cheap hotel called 81 hotel in S'pore The air-con. is OK, the bed is comfortable but the tv is with few channels and there is no place to put your soiled clothes and there is no hook or rack to hang you wet towel. The next morning while waiting for the time to board the bus for home, of course I bought a copy of Chinese and English newspaper each to read and strangly enough I found that they were so boring and dry. In the past I used to enjoy reading the S'pore newspapers bothe in Chinese and English. Now I think since I can get the news and knowledge from the direct sources from the internet, so what we can read from the newspapers seem to be out of date already. Yesterday was Labour Day, of course it was a holiday. Went to see the Chinese Navy training ship 'Chenghe" at South Port Port Klang. We were just allowed to go round the deck one complete round of the ship. It took us a great pain to have the opportunity to see it because the crowd was tremendous. I think this is an indication to the fact that the Chinese are proud of their ancestors' land although it is quite a small ship compared to the ones that are owned by the super-power, but the ray of hope is in the horizon that the day will come that the Chinese Navy will be as strong as that of other powers. 3nd.May.12. (Thu.) 1635hrs. I pity the blind Chinese dissident Chen Guancheng that he failed to relise that he is valueless for the Western propoganda that is why they did not send a special plane to take him and his family away quickly. 4th.May.12. (Fri.) 2325hrs. The weather is very very hot today. No rain. Let me tell you another dag's story. This time is my grandpa's black dog. His name is 'itam' in Malay. The time was when I was about seven and eight years old. I still can visualise him curling on the floor mat in the centre of the main door of my grandpa's house. He was a quiet dog he did not simply bark for nothing. The next thing I remember about him in particular is that he used to sit in waiting when my auntie poured the biscuits into a big biscuit tin brought back from Melaka Town by my grandpa because she would give him two pieces after completing the job. He would be happy to eat them. The biscuit was from the left over bread cut into blocks and put into oven again to bake them dry. My grandpa used to buy them from a bakery in Melaka. We ate them with black coffee for breadfast. 6th.May.12. (Sun.) 1700hrs. This part of KL is quiet, I don't know other part of KL is peaceful or not. Lately due to the gen. election is eminent so there is a lot of demonstrations going on. Now that the mother of human rights and democracy had gone home, so there should not be any more of the blind dissident's drama going on. The staging of the drama was very well planned. They must have hoped that thousand and thousand of supporters of the blind man would go to the Thiananmen Square. They spared no efforts to creat trouble for other people. 10th.May.12. (Thu.) 2300hrs. It took me three hours to go by train to Subang Jaya to bring back the maid from EM place by train as well. It will take as long if I use my car because of the jam etc. By train it cost only RM2.30 for the maid while as a senior citizen I got a free ride for three months otherwise it cost half ware for me. In the evening there was a big thunder storm raging on for about two hours. So there was no evening walk. 12th.May.12. (Sat.) 0515hrs. Woken up by the barks of the dogs at 4am and just couldn't fall asleep again. One of the annoying things of living with the Chinese neighbourhood is the barking dogs. Last time the noises made by the Chinese population was their loud talkings, loud radio music, car honkings etc.etc. When you go for morning walk you can hear them clapping their hands while walking. To me it is very annoying. I like to walk by myself quietly just to stop talking because people have been talking too much. All the troubles either big or small are caused by talkings. Comparatively the Chinese are more civilised now. 13th.May.12. (Sun.) 0435hrs. This morning the dog-barking is less. it may be due to the cooler weather. Yesterday we spent the whole morning in the PUSPACOM. This time the PUSPACOM is totally reorganised and it had really got rid of the corruption activity like last time. We will see how long it will last. We gave a farewel dinner to the maid who is going home after five years with us. We invited uncle Loon and wife, Mai Chin and her fatty daughter with her boy friend and the new maid. She will be leaving at llam with the Air Asia. 13th.May.12/ (Sun.) 2325hrs. Went to SS's house with the maid at about 10am. Proceeded to the LCCT at about 1100hrs. After checking in they bid farewell to her wihtout me. We started our journey home at about 2pm and stopped at Taipan USJ for some food as we had missed our lunch. Sent EM to SS's house to pick up her car and maid. By the time we arrived home it was already about 4.30pm. Had a nap for one hour. Thinking of going for a walk at the Metropolitan garden but the darkening sky prevented me for that. It was already about 6.30pm.,so gave up the idea of the evening walk. As we were preparing to go out for our dinner uncle Loon called and asked us whether we are happy to go to his house for dinner as he had boiled chicken(pak cham kai) and chickem soup for dinner. So we ended up having dinner in his house. It was a delicious dinner. 16th.May.12. (Wed.) 2225hrs. There is nothing to write about my psesonal life. It had been non eventful for the last three days. The weather is extremely hot and uncomfortable. The US $2b loss by the JP Morgan is quite a news. That is what it is said in the Malay proverb that "tupai pandai pandai l0mgpat, satu hari jatoh juga". That is good enough for time being. 18th.May.12. (Fri.) 1755hrs. Yesterday, went to top up my prepaid card for travelling in the Rapid transport system vehicles like Buses, LRT etc. at the Klang Bus Station LRT station. The Klang Bus station is being torn down to make way for the MRT station. Few other buildings will be involved and this has raised protest from the property ownners in the Sultan Street claiming that it is a historical heritage and it should be preserved as it is. I really don't know what is the real reason for it. I thought the MRT station will bring prosperity to the area. After seeing a lot of modern cities, KL is really a rundown city. 19th.May.12. (Sat.) 0000hrs. Went to PUSPACOM again, this time passed the test. So we can relax for another six months. Congratulations to the blind Chinese activist and his family members, they can now enjoy eating hamburgers in the country of its origin. They must be very happy now. Another thing that linger in my mind that I just cannot put it away without sayng something about it that is the govt. of KMT Taiwan is buying 66 pieces of the F16 for now and other weaponry to follow soon. KMT Taiwan is hailed as presenting the Free and Democractic China and it has to depend on buying arms to protect its while the mainland China is developing its own weaponry, that is why they have been blamed for not transparant and as a threat etc. So as a Chinese whick China you prefer? 22nd.May.12. (Tue.) 2220hrs. Sunday, went to Jln Pasar to see the sunday market and the Pudu big marke because we had not been there for three years. Monday, took Sung Fong to the veteran office at the Jln. Tun Dr. Ismail to see what he can get from the dept. since he left the service without pension. The govt is giving RM 3,ooo to the ex-home guards, Junior Liason Officers, and AC's and other servicemen who serve during the Emergency from 1948-1964. The answer is there is nothing for him since he left the armed forces much later when the emergency was over. However they are trying to persude the govt. to give this bunch of ex-servicemen some aid. To-night saw the footage from the TV that those potesters in the demonstration against the 20 summit held in Chicago is a bunch of timid, pale and frial crowd. I doubt there is anybody would care to listen to them. 24th.May.12. (Thu.) 1630hrs. Wed. Went to the Public Bank headquarter at Jln. Raja Chulan to change the new names of signatory for the Koh's assn. cheques since the President and Treasurer of the assn. have changed after the 1912 AGM. This morning went to JPJ to renew mom's driving licence. 27th.May.12 (Sun.) 1025hrs. Life have been very quiet for the last few days. This morning went to the Metropolitan garden for a morning exercise for about 45 minutes. Went to Tmn. Kolican for breakfast. As I surf the net everyday, it dawns to me that I am very fortunate to be able to read and write Chinese. I can communicate with my Chinese ancestors through their writings and carving or whatever they left behind to tell us of their experiences etc., and to listen to their stories in their own language. Through the CNTV I have learnt that the Chinese had not been totally sleeping in the last five thousand years of their history. They have the brain and a pair of good hands with which they can produce beautiful things. At this point of time the only thing the Chinese should do is to produce the war weaponries as good as if not better than the West and their have got.) ← Older revision | 2011 June 24 13th.Jul.11. Reached home is already 2pm and what followed was a daily rutine for me. 12th.Feb.12. (Sun.) 2220hrs. Yesterday (Sat.) went to JMB office to clear a bit of the paper works like getting ready the lst. qtr. statements and getting the cheque to pay up the TNB bill etc., in the marning part as for the afternoon it is the normal routine. Today is Sunday, stayed at home for the whole day except the evening walk. Tried to got to the Kepong lake garden for the evening walk but the traffic was too heavy so we turned back to our Metropolitan garden. So another week is gone. 15th.Feb.12. (Wed.) 2220hrs. Monday, busy with the JMB office for the morning part. Tuesday, went to town at 1044hrs train for a short break after remaining in the Ipoh Road for so many days. Asked the roof repair man to come to look at the roof leak at the P4D1 but he is unable to come due to his eyes problem, will come on Friday. Went to a coleague's house to discuss about the statement/ invoice of the lst.qtr for 2012. That had taken up the whole morning. 19th.Feb.12. (Sun.) 2215hrs. It had been quite busy for the last few days for the JMB affairs. AGM for 2012 was held on Sat. 18th. Feb. The turn-out was very poor. Today Sunday GAO association held its committee members meeting befor the AGM for 2012 at 2pm at the association premise to prepare for the new set of committee members for the next two years. 23rd.Feb.12. (Thu.) 2145hrs. Nothing special happening in the last three days. Had been quite busy running between home and the JMB office because the clerk had gone to see the doctor in the general hospital and getting the roof repairer to mend the leak in the block etc. This morning I went to the govt. clinik to see the doctor for my urine test. Two weeks ago when seeing the doctor for the routine check-up I told the doc. that the colour of my urine is yellowish, so he sent me for a urine test and it was found that there is a small trace of blood in it, so he told me to come again in two weeks time for another test. Unfortunately it was found it conatin more blood in it in today's test, so he is sending me to Selayang hospital for a X-ray on the 27th. Feb.. 26th.Feb.12. (Sun.) 0815hrs. Loving Sunday morning. It is quiet and peaceful. It seems that the dog-barking is kept to its minimum otherwise the first thing one hears is the barkings of the dogs. Yesterday evening went to the KL Sentul by train and explore the surroungding area just to familiary what is going on there. The area is developing tremendously. It is definitely going to be another mear business centre of the KL city. Due to the composition of the populations there I think it is really not an intelligent place to live in. 28th.Feb.12. (Tue.) 0920hrs. Just rang up the Selayang Hospital X ray department to find out whether the X ray film taken yesterday is ready for collection or not. The answer is that the printing machine is having some problem so ask me to phone again in the afternoon. The two days of medication and controlled diet (without solid food) before the X ray made me quite weak. Eatings after the X ray made me fresh as before again. Hope that there will be no big problem. 1st.Mar.12. (Thu.) 0435hrs. Went to Seleyang Hospital to collect the X ray film and will see the doctor today. It was a rainny day yesterday. In spite of the rain I still went for my evening walk under the shops verenda up to the Batu Village KTM station and took the train back. Luckily found an umbrella in the station when I alighted the train, that saved me from being drenched form the Batu Kentonmen station to the house. lst..Mar.12. (Thu.) 2310jrs. The doctor had seen the X-ray film and read the report and told me that there is nothing wrong with me. He asked me to continue monitoring my urine and see whether there is any change in its colour. So it is a relief for me. 5th.Mar.12. (Mon.) 2120hrs. 2nd.Mar. Fri. went to land office to pay the land tax for P4D1. Because I went by bus, so it took me the whole morning to finish the job. 3rd.Mar. Sat. Nothing special. 4th.Mar. Sun. Went to mom's friend's son tortoureous wedding dinner at Jinjang chinese restaurant. 5th.Mar. Mon. After the drinking and eating on the wedding dinner, it makes me feel uncomfortable for the whole day until after the evening walk. It is quite ok now. 8th.Mar.12. (Thu.) 0300hrs. 6th. had been busy with the JMB administrative matters like sending out demand letters to unit owners who owes the maintenance fees. 7th. went downtown to spend the morning part of the day. It rained contineously from about five right up to about 9pm. No evening walk. 10th.Mar.12. (Sat.) 1220hrs. Life had been peaceful and quiet for the past two days. The weather had been good as well. Its was cloudy. We are now ready to go to the airport tonight to catch the plane to China. The weather there seems to be very cold but we will make the best of it. We are ready. 18th.Mar.l2. (Sun.) 2235hrs. Returned from a week's field study of the Chinese History. I had studied it from the book when I was at school and now I went to the acturl places concerned. Qingdao was taken from the Ching dynasty by Germany at the end of 19 century and occupied it right up to the end of the first world war when Germany lost the war. The League of Nations past it to the Japanese when they split German's possession at the end of the war. The Chinese got it back after the end of the VWll and the KMT govt. let the American to use it as a naval base. It only returned back to the Chinese after the liberation of the enclave by the PLA. The second place I was most interested to visit is Qufu the Confucius's old home, Confucius Temple and Confucius Cemetery where only his decendants were allowed to be buried. I am fortunate enough to get a genuine white wine that is brewed according to the formula used by the Kong family. (Kong is the actual surname of Confucius.) We also climbed the Mt. Taisan which is said that only the worthy emperors of China were allowed to go up there to pray. Beside that we went to see part of the Yellow River that passes through the Jinan city. In a nutshell we enjoyed the tour very much inspite of the fact that our legs were swollen with so much of walking. 22nd.Mar.12. 2225hrs. Completely grounded by the flu for the last three days, only now I feel a bit better. Luckily I don't have to see the doctor but by taking two panadol three times a day. Hope that by tomorrow it will be completely OK. 24th.Mar.12. 1920hrs. Feeling much better today. This morning went to the Tmn. Rainbow small garden for some exercise. Other than that just stayed in. 26th.Mar.12. 2010hrs. Still feel weak after a week of flu followed by the cough. Yesterday went to the GAO assn. annual meeting plus the commitee members election. It went on smoothly as usual. One resolution is to give Heng Jin a birthday party in Sept. to commemorate his 81st. birthday as one of the founder members of the assn. I will head the organising committee for the preparation of the party. 29th.Mar.12. 2225hrs. Went to see the govt. doc. at the Kampong Batu for my coughyesterday. The cough really made me uncomfortable. So remained at home for the whole day. No evening walk no nothing. After taking the medicine, feel much better. Since the weather is fine so went to the taman for a small stroll 3rd.Apr.12. (Tue.) 1625hrs. 1st.Apr. (Sun.) Went to Melaka for Qingmin. The battery of Unser went flat in Machap new villege. At first we arrived at Jelutong but there was a heavy traffic jam, so we decided to go to Machap Baru to visit Ah Mok family. As we passed Machap Baru new villege we stopped at a coffee shop for a light breadfast. When we wanted to proceed to Ah Mok's house the vehicle failed to start. The local there helped us to get a machinic to replace the battery. We were really lucky it happened in the Chinese new villege otherwise you can just imagine. After visiting Ah Mokl's family it was over 10 o'clock and when we went to do the praying it was quite unbearable of the hot sun. We went our way hurriedly with my all the graves. I apologised for being late this year and we will start from KL earlier next year. This year we started off at 6.30am from EM's house while last year we arrived at Jelutong while it was still dark. 2nd.Apr.(Mon.) stayed at home after yesterday's hatic day. Through the CNTV I have learnt that the Chinese had not been totally sleeping in the last five thousand years of their history. They have the brain and a pair of good hands with which they can produce beautiful things. At this point of time the only thing the Chinese should do is to produce the war weaponries as good as if not better than the West and their have got.)

16th. Mar.09. (Mon.) 0115hrs.

Strange, I don't remember of writing anything on the 14th.Mar.09 which was Sat. not like the one shown above as (Tue.). However, on Saturday I went to Lake Titiwangsa to read my newspapers as my wife went to see her friend in the Selayang Hospital. Her friend had an operation on her stomach to remove a cancereous growth to prevent it from spreading. So I went to the Lake Titiwangsa to spend my time away. In the afternoon part I went to register myself for a Chinese pronunciation course in the Chinses Temple situated in front of Chinese Assembly Hall. At this point of time it is Monday morning at l o'clock, because yesterday was Sunday,we went to One Utama to do some shopping and came back late in the evening and I was very tired so went for a nap at about 7pm and got up at 1030pm and stay awake up to now.

17th.Mar.09. (Tue.) (this is written on 18th.Mar.09. at 0800hrs) While preparing to go out to get a ride in the Rapid bus for a yo-yo, ex-Kaptan Ramiah from EME came to visit me and spent about one hour chatting, by then the sun is getting too hot, so I abandoned the idea of going out. Stayed at home till time for evening walk at the Metropolitan Park.

19th.Mar.09. (Thu.) 0708hrs.

I am now in Silver Park now, the weather is as good as usual and the air is really fresh. It looks like we are the only few families are here on holiday.

'Paper Tiger' is the best word to describe the Western financial system. If one would see their imposing banking, insurance and financial buildings and the 'gaya' of their so-called financial experts and other financial gurus, they are real tigers but in reality they are made of papers.

22nd.Mar.09. (Sun.) 1535hrs.

Friday, we were still at the Fraser Hill. Saturday, we came down the hill at 0800hrs, we were the first and the only vehicle to come down. We came down early because we wanted to go through Bukit Peruntung via Rasa. The Chinese Pinyin class started at 1500hrs and ended at 1700hrs. So, that was the day. Today, Sunday, got up at 0630hrs, had a cup of tea and spent about 45min on the exercise and went to bed at 0800hrs and got up at 1000hrs. Mom and EM go to see the DIAMON exhibition at the KL conference hall, KL and still not back yet at this hour. It is reported the Chinese defence minister had sounded to the Japanese defence minister who is now in Beijing that China is to start building AIRCRAFT CARRIER next year and it my be completed in 2014. I hope I will be still around to witness the completion of the beast. Since I am on the subject I might as well put down in writing that I simply want to see China is at par with the most modern country in the world.

23rd.Mar.09. (Mon.) 1905hrs.

Cancelled plan for an evening walk because I went for a bus ride in the afternoon. There already I walked quite a bit. The internet connetion to BBC and CNN sites had been quite bad these few days. ECONOMIC RECESSION, that term has a special significance to me. The story went like this, that I was born in Labis, Johore in 1932 my whole family moved to Malacca when I was three years old. The reason was due to economic recession at that time, the rubber industry was at the standstill and thus my father could not make a living there with a small plot of rubber platation, so he sold off the land and moved to Malacca. So that was his first setback in his fortune. Then the world economic picked up again he was doing fine with working in the rubber industry by being a contractor in a large rubber estate owned by Ong Eng Tian. The estate was located in the Machap district 16 miles away from the Malacca town. Then in 1942 the Jap. invaded the then Malaya and the story of Japanese occupation of Malaya is already well known. As far I know the Korean war was the golden period for the rubber industry. He made quite a big sum money during that period of time and he bought some plot of rubber land for his old age pension. He lived on it until he passed off. (Contrator's job is to engage rubber tapers to tape the rubber trees and labourers to maintain the estate by clearing the wanted shrubs, grasses and preventing termites going from trees to trees by digging trenches around in infested trees. The maintenance of drainage system etc. He also buy and sell small plot of estate on his own etc. for extra income.)

Pa: Just to let you know that I am reading it everyday. You are really writing a lot now. Keep it up. Aik-Siong

25th.Mar.09. (Wed.) 2215hrs.

Yesterday(Tue.)took the maid to the Indonesian Ambassy to renew her visa before leaving for home for holiday for one month. Waited for her to finish the task to bring her back took the whole morning. Sorry to say the efficiency of the ambassy need no mention. So the day is gone. This morning went to Melawati by bus to check the location of TNB(tenaga national berhad)because we have to change the electricity consumption rate from commbercial rate to housewhole rate for the apartment at the Mastralia flat. Located the office and found out that we have to write a letter to rectify the matter. They don't have ready form to be filled and finish the job. Had a nap and went for an evening walk. That ends another day. Read two articles on the economic crises, one is from the Chinese Ntional Bank boss proposing the setting up new system under the control of IMF instead of using the US$ as the basis of world currency and the other one is describing the US as a nation which runs its national economy just like Benard Madoff ran his Ponzi scheme. And now the bubble has burst.

26th.Mar.09. (Thu.) 2115hrs.

Went to Melawati TNB to submit the request for change of the electricity rate by Rapid bus. By the time I reached home was about 2pm. As normal napped, afternoon tea and went for a walk. Before that I went to see Dr. Lian for my gout on my left hand shoulder. Had a jab and a few pills for RM 28.00. By this time I feel much better.

27th.Mar.09. (Fri.) 1900hrs.

It looks like going to rain but it does not but it rains somewehere else because the lighings and thundering can be heard not far away. Secondly may be the drugs for gout make me a bit lethargic so no walk. Let me recall a bit of the old memory. When I was a teen I used to think that my dad was not smart enough in everything because he came from China and I can be better than him in all aspect of life including making money. So I tried to look for opportunities to make money. I read all kinds of business articles and all kinds of advertisements in the newspapers to see what is there for the picking. There are a lot a lot of articles on dealing with stocks and shares and how people make a fortune from it etc.etc. Since the shares buyings and sellings is the easiest and it can be done with small capitial so I went in to buy shares. I started roughly in l962 and up to today I am stuck with some useless shares. To sum up, this shares business is nothing but a big bluff. Well to know it thoroughly one has to dip a finger in it. What I am trying to say here is that I am actually no better than my father. Any gains over the years were swept away by waves of so-called economic recessions.

Pa: I am glad you tried to be better just as I try to be better. We have made progress, just not spectacular progress. Aik-Siong.

31st.Mar.09. 1235hrs.

Entry of the trip to Melaka for Qing Ming had gone missing. I may have forgoten to press the 'save page' key. Forget about Saturday because there was nothing much happening. However, on Sunday morning we got up at 0330hrs to get ready for the Qingming trip. We drove to EM's house at 0430hrs to join her in her Audi to Melaka. We went straight to the graveyard after breakfast in a coffee shop in Melaka Town. There was a small cave-in in the middle of the grave so we paid thirty Ringgits to two Malay guys to fill up the crack with earth. It won't be permanent but at least it sove the problem for this year. We will see what will happen next year. We went to Machap to visit one of our relavtives and the wife gave us a well dressed chicken as usual. After a chicken rice lunch at the same coffee shop in Melaka town we went to my sister house to rest until we start our trip home at about 4pm to avoid the traffic jam. EM liked the food served in that coffee shop very much. We were caught in a heavy rain when we drove from EM' house to our own house. However, we enjoyed the trip very much. We did it like that because EM and I did not fancy of staying a night in Melaka as there was nothing much to do there. True enough there appears a great Economis Mind in China who is proposing a new system to change the existing world economic system of the world. I hope his system will revolutionise it to make it fairer to every country in the world. Well, he is none other than the Governor of the Cental Bank of China, Zhou Xiaochuan. Let us see what will happen after the G20 meeting.

2nd.Apr.09. (Thu.) 0510hrs.

Last night tried to write but the computer could not display the webpage. Stayed at home in the whole morning part of the day. At 2.30pm accompanied mom to collect keys from the tenant who rented the apartment in the Angkasa Villa. It was a middle eastern damily who stayed in the appartment for about seven months. Originally they intended to stay for one year somehow they changed the plan. According to the neighbourhood they were a croded family and they were noisy. The head of the block of the apartment complained that they dirtied the wall by putting their foot on the wall while waitting the lift and littered the rubbish bins compartment. In the evening went for a long walk to tire my body. This morning got up early and failed to fall asleep again, so I am writing this piece of art. At twelve o'clock will send the maid to the airport for her holiday trip back home for a month. I will take her to EM' house and from there will go to the airport in EM's car. EM will check her in and that's it.

3rd.Apr. 09. (Fri.) 1915hrs.

The computer connection is lousy. Very very slow. Today a new Prime Minister is sworn in as the sixth PM of Malaysia. The future is left to be seen. The declaration of the G20 submmit has been declared today and just like the above the result is yet to be seen. However, the Chinese is doing their best to devise their own system to be independent from the Western encirclement. As for myself, went to Lake Titiwangsa to read newspapers in the morning part. In the evening the rain prevented me from my evening walk.

4th.Apr.09. (Sat.) 1930hrs.

Went to attend the Pin Yin class in a Chinese temple in front of Chinese Assembly Hall from 2.30pm to 5pm. Originally it is 3-5pm but they give two extra half hour period for revision. I am really curious about the Pin Yin thing so in order to know it well I enrolled myself for the class. Let us don't talk about the money. All in all it well be twelve lessons. Went for morning walk in the Metropolitan park for about one hour fifteen mins.

5th.Apr.09. (Sun.) 2130hrs.

A peaceful and restful Sunday. Went to the Lake Garden for a morning walk with mum at 0630hrs. We had a long walk plus the exercise at the end of it to make us really tired. Went to Tong Shin road corner coffee shop for Ipoh Sar Ho Fan and Kun Lou for breakfast. Came back at about 0930hrs and stayed home all the afternoon. It rained heavily from 2pm right up to about 6pm. There must be some area being flooded in KL. The North Korean has successfully put a space satelite into space without the South Korean and Japanese knowledge. Wonderful isn't it?!

6th.Apr.09. (Mon.) 1255hrs.

Yesterday spent the whole morning in waiting for the electrician to come to repair mum's light in her room. The electrician finally came at 1230hrs and he took about half an hour to sort out the problem. It rain not very heavily for the whole afternoon. Went for evening walk in the drizzle. The weather this morning is cloudy and it drissles on and off. Mom and I went to visit a tour agency to find out a trip to either Laos, Burma and Indonesia during the school holiday in June. The only trip that is avaible at that time is to Burma, so we will inform the agency that we well make the trip. We just want to see how our neighbour is. Since the financial tsonami, I am keen in reading articals pertaining the economic situations. I just want to see what fate will befall onto US$. At the moment it is the supreme currency of the world. I was born in 1932, by the time I went to the village school near my grandpa's house at the age of six, the full scale Sino-Japanese was already on for one year. The Jap. started the war by occupying Manchuria in 1931, the full scale war was declared in l937 when they started to attack the China proper. So from that time onwards I began to hear about the war until the end of second world war in 1945. To make it more realistic the Jap. occupied this country for three years and eight months. At that time I did not read the newspaper but experienced it myself. I went to the Japanese school but none of the teachers could speak Japanese and so instead of learning Japanese the teacher told us more of the Chinese histories. That was the reason why I am very interested in Chinese history and love China. Since I am a Chinese, I feel strongly the humiliations perpetrated onto China and to its people by the foreign devils. That sin muct be repaid in full. After the second world war, the cold war and the Malayan Commuist Party up-rising resulting in the Emergency occupied my entire adulthood until my retirement from the armed forces.

8th.Apr.09.(Wed.) 2120hrs.

Went to 1Utama shopping complex by Rapid bus to tire myself and to know the shopping complex more thoroughly otherwise it is so confusing just now. Napped and remained at home the whole evening with the computer. Between l946 to l949, I followed the civil war between the Communist Army(the Red Army) and Kuomintang (Chinese Nationalist Party)army very closely. After the establishment of the Communist regime I followed the events happening in China by reading reports churnched out by the Western propagando machinery. Needless to say one can imagine what kind of a picture had been painted by those reports. I may have written somewhere in my history as to why I joined the army. It is because I wanted to know how the Western army is organised and run. China had suffered a lot under their hands. I always wonder how come the Chinese with so many people could be cowed by a small force. By the time I know what it is about my whole life is already gone. Note: now the Chinese armyis called People Liberation Army.)

9th.Apr.09. (Thu.) 1345hrs.

Back again on the Chinese civil war from 1946-1949. At that time I was in Chiang Kai Shek that was the Kuomintang camp. We were told that Kuomintang was fighting for democracy and freedom for the people and that the Communists were bandits. We were very happy when the Americans shipped shiploads after shiploads of weapons to help to win the war. We hardly realised that those were the old obsolet, and surplus weapons from the second world war. There was no better way to finish off the Chinamen. Alas! finally the Kuomintang was driven out of China mainland and fled to Taiwan island till today. I am glad that China is growing ever stronger day by day. They can manfacture anything that the West and Japanese can. Lately they are talking about building aircraftcarriers. They have a strong and efficient government. Finally they have found the path to survive for another five thousand years.Thank GOD!

10th.Apr.09. (Fri.) 1810hrs.

The maid had left for a month holiday, so I have to do bit and piece of house chores like drying clothes, washing dishes, washing the vege etc. However I still have time to read, to surf the net and go for a walk. I am interested in reading the economic recession news. All those economic experts are at their wits end as to how to solve the problems.

12th.Apr.09. (Sun.) 0600hrs.

I am now writing yesterday's story that is Saturday. Went to town to look for tour agency for trip to either Laos or Burma. After which went to Lake Garden for a while reading newspaper. Attended the Pin Yin class from 3 to 5PM. Attended a dinner party for full month celebration in a Chinese restaurant in Kepong. One thing need special mention is the waiting time. I tole mom that this is the last dinner I am going to attend any dinner unless it is absolutely important. The whole story is a lengthy one. To attend any "celebration dinner" as the Chinese call it is real torture. This morning at this hour we are planning to go to Lake Garden for a morning walk.

14th.Apr.09. (Tue.) 1835hrs.

Yesterday,Monday, noting to report, very normal day. Went for evening walk, quite a long walk. I feel that I need a longer walk to be realy effective. Today is Tuesday, busy getting Gao assn. members to make up a group to go to China for a visit to our ancester homestead. So far there are six of us intending to go. Won't go for evening walk because I have had it enough already because went to town by Rapid bus.

16th.Apr.09 (Thu.) 2220hrs.

Normal day nothing interesting to record. The world is still riling with the economic turmoil. I am glad that China is seizing this opportunity to make the RMB more widely used in home market and in Asia to avoid the peril of the $ and eventually become the world currency.

18th.Apr.09. (Sat.) 2220hrs.

Since the absence of the maid I find that I have less time with the computer. I hardly realise that I have left off yesterday without any writing at all. Bits and pieces take up a lot of time and concentrations. This afternoon spent two hours with the Pin Yin class that is all. Of course I did not miss the world news from the Yahoo, BBC, CNN, Malaysiakini, Singapore Zaobao, China Daily, CRI, Xinhuanet and the Chinese Economic website.

l9th.Apr.09. (Sun.) 1610hrs.

It is cloudy today after three or four days of sunny days. It was really hot. Getting ready for anevening walk. At 10 this morning went to the association to call to China to find out the details on our trip for the ancestral birthplace celebration on 19-21 of May. The feeling now is that the world is more peaceful now than before when the "some seng" was the president of the strongest nation of the world. I hope it will last.

21st.Apr.09. (Tue.) 1415hrs.

Yesterday (Mon.) was a normal day except I went for a long evening walk. This morning it started raining heavily from 0330hrs. Plan to remain at home until this evening for the evening walk. At about 9 thirty a.m. took mom and the maid Ana to the bank to send some money to the maid who is holidaying in Indonesia for her return journey from her kampong to the nearest airport to catch the plane. She had run out of money. China is celebrating the 60th. anniversary of the founding of her Navy fleet. This is also one of the results of MZD's thought which says that the Chinese must be "self-reliance and arduous struggle". If it is KMT, they will just buy the whole bunch from the US.

22nd.Apr.09. (Wed.) 1410hrs.

"Queen Elizabeth celebrates 83rd Birthday"(the actual day was yesterday) reported in the Star and continued to say she was crowned in 1952 after the death of her father King George V1. Well, that sparked an old memory in me. At that time I just joined the lst. Bn. Federation Regiment and undergoing recruit training in Taiping. It was my fifth month of traing and I was selected with two other recruits, one of them is Indian while the other was a Eurasian to attend the coronation parade in London. At the same time I was selected to go for a special training in Port Dickson. I was sent home for two weeks holiday before going for the training. So Tan Poh Seng was selected to take my place for the parade. After completing the two weeks hihoday I was informed that the traing programe was cancelled, instead RMC was formed and thus I missed both the opportunities. At that time the then Malaya was the British colony, it was a poor country and the people was equally poor. New China was only about three years old and it was very very poor. But Britain was supposed to be no l country in the world. Between the Queen and I, we saw two different processes of changes taking place as we go along the road. The Queen saw the disintegration of her empire and I am very happy to see that Malaysia and China are getting ever stronger and prosperous. I just wonder how her feeling is right now. (Tan Poh Seng died of cancer in 1959 at the age of 35 while I was in Kuching. I dreamed of him that he was seriously ill and I wrote to mum to see him in the KL GH but it was too late she was told that he had just died.)

24th.Apr.09. (Fri.) 1830hrs.

It looks like the trip to China is to be aborted due to lack of support. Heng Jin and his wife do not want to go because they do not like to travel with Southern Airline's Boeing 737. They want larger plane. I am not very keen of going because my wife cannot come with me because of her work. So it only left with the President and his wife. I will contact him tonight for confirmation. We can write a book on this subject if we are going into minute details from the brginning. The problem of the plane is because if we use Air Asia or MAS, there is the problem of connecting flight from Guangzhou to Wuhan.

29th.Apr.09. (Wed.) 1750hrs.

Two days ago I wrote the story of the last few years of Hong Kong's return to China. In that I said that I have been lucky to have lived to see those days. At last China is solidly unified as a nation. (The story of the negotiations between China and Britain will be interesting to read.) Somehow when I click the 'save page' button it did not work. I have done nothing special today except reading newspapers, surfing and a little things about the house. It rained heavily from three to five o'clock and it has stopped with a cloudy sky. I am preparing for the evening walk. Tomorrow night we will go to Hatnya in southern Thailand for three days & two nights. I am replacing Chi Mai's place because she does not want to go because her friend does not want to go.

30th.Apr.09. (Thu.) 1645hrs.

Went to the govt. clinic for the routine blood pressure check-up this morning. The result was very good. The doctor said that I look good and healthy, so the same medicine was prescribed for another four months. Blood checking in July one month before the blood pressure check. The whole process took about one and a half hours. The medical services for the ordinary folks in this country are really up-to-date. Rested at home in the afternoon and now we are getting ready for the Hatnai trip tonight. The swine flu has yet to reach us here. However, the govt. is ready for it since we know it well in advance. As it is now the world is riling under the economic meltdown and now the swine flu.

5th.May.09. (Tue.) 1750hrs.

Returned from 3days and 2nights trip from Hatyai arrived at 10pm. last night. Enjoyed the trip quite satisfactorily. The town is clean and everything seems to be orderly. Plentiful of mangoes, and delicious pineapples. Hatyai is also more or less as a vice town with its tiger shows, "akua shows" and prostitutes. But one thing beaufiful is it without beggars unlike Cambodia. In spite of our Malaysian gov't effort of stemping off corruption, the police at the check points, immigration personnel and traffic police are still on the take. The Thai side is needless to say. All in all the trip was enjoyable, if not for anything but just to be away from home once in a while.

6th.May.09. (Wed.) 2150hrs.

The first thing in the morning, took our maid to her embassy for passport renewal. They seem to be very strict now because they want to see the employers personally. Since we were not prepared for it so we have to do it again tomorrow morning. I was in my shorts and mom has to be home for her bas sekolah so we were left with no choice. Stayed at home for the rest of the day. Went for a evening walk in the evening in a drizzle.

7th.May.09. (Wed.) 0700hrs.

Yesterday morning, the first thing we did was to go to the Indonesian ambassy to finish off the maid passport business. We started off as soon as mom came back from her round that was about 0730hrs. One of the official in the ambassy interviewed me and after that the whole thing finished at about 1130hrs. Stayed home for the rest of the day and went for an evening walk. That ends the day.

9th.May.09. (Sat.) 0845hrs.

Yesterday morning we test run the stretch of newly built elevated road from Jalan Kuching to the Melawati as soon as mum came back from her round. Stayed home until the evening walk. That was the end of yesterday. Now let us go back a bit the yester-days. Our family moved to Melaka town not long after the WWll, so the time would had been aroung l946. I started to read newspaper after we moved to Melaka town because people living in the village at that time did not read newspapers, in fact they did not do any reading at all. Of course it was the Chinese newpaper because I was enrolled in the Chinese school. I started to read English newspaper in l948 when I went to the English school. The English shcool was a Methodist English School meant for overage pupils. At that time the schools were very strict with age because there were not many schools. When reading the Chinese newspaper, of course there were a lot of news reports on the Chinese civil wars between the Kuomintang and the Red Army(at that time it was not called People's Liberation Army as it is today). During the Japanese invasion both armies were fighting the Japs. together and split after the war inspite of mediation with the US army general. (The story of the Kuomintang and the Communists joined hands to fight the Japs make another interesting story. Will come later.) You will note that at that time I was interested in the civil wars in China. The first thing I read was the wars and of course later on the events that follows until today. But now I am quite relax on it because I know the Chinese is capable of running the counrty well if not better than the smart white men who run their own countries. But now since the Western economic fiasco I began to be interested in the Economic side. The first thing I read is the economic news. I love to read about their Banks and Business failures because they were the ones hwo have been boasting about their economics theories.

10th.May.09. (Sun.) 0710hrs.

Yesterday, the morning part took mum to Mutiara at the Ipoh Road for hair cut. In the evening part took her to Eik Mai's house to pick up Eik Mai proceed to Subang Parade for facial massage. Finishing the massage went to shopping at the Cold Storage at the ground floor. Bold a small frozen turkey for roasting. Arrived home at about 8.30pm. Ya, I forgot to add just now that while waitting for them I went to the MPH next door to browse through the book store. How strange I found that it is so boring as all the subjects of the books are so familiar to me as they have been written again and again. I flipped through a TIME magazine and I found that the Americans are still talking as the old style, blowing their own trumpets. It reminded me of the old cold-war days. The renovation of Siow Sing's house is near completion and her family can move in anytime now. It seems that today is an auspicious day, so we held a token move-in ceremony by putting up a piece of red cloth on the main door and held a small makan party in the house. The party was only for our immediate relatives. The whole thing was over at about 1230hrs. Lip Wern's parents sent him to us to take him to swim at the Villa Ansana while they go to church to pray as they missed the church during the morning session .

13th.May.09. (Wed.) 1830hrs.

For two days there were nothing to write about. The normal things, reading the newspapers, surfing the internet, napping and evening walks. So let me reflect on something about what I know a bit of the Chinese history. As far as I can remember Chiang Kai Shek at that time only did things that won the praises of the western medias particularly from the US. The next thing was to receive military aids from the US. His wife died in US. She went there after her busband's death. His grand children grew up and educated in US. In short he was making US as his home base. Truely if the Communists had occupied Taiwan he himself would had gone to US for santuary.

15th.May.09. (Fri.) 1820hrs.

Yesterday NTR(nothing to report). This morning went to Publick Bank to transfer RM 20,000 back to Eik Mai's account book. She lent me the money to buy Govt. bond which pays 5% interest rate. Failed to get the bond so return the loan. Two days ago the Meteorogical station just announced that the present dry spell will drag on till November, it rained for two consecutive days. So the whether is not so hot but suffocating. So now, China is the second nation next to US given more say in the IMF. This is simply the beginning.

17th.May.09. (Sun.) 1710hrs.

Yesterday(Sat), stayed at home in the morning part. Went to "Pin Ying" class in the afternoon then went to Eik Mai's birthday party at her house in Subang. It was a roast pork party instead of roast lamb for a change. It was an enjoyable night. The weather today is fine and not so heaty. Went to Ampang new village for "Yong Tou Foo" breakfast. Then proceeded to the Ampang Tasek township Paragon shopping mall to buy mom's shampoo. Had a nap and now we are getting ready to go to the Lake Garden for a walk.

18th.May.09. (Mon.) 1910hrs. Took the bus to town centre, had a bowl of beef noodle from the famous Forch Avenue beef noodle shop. It was delicious, it seems that today's noodle is specially good. From town centre, went to Damansara Damai which is located in the north of Kepong, just for fun. I think it is good to come out of the house from to time just to get the taste of human nature. The bus which took me to the town centre was competing with another company's bus for passengers, so they were busy overtaking each other to reach the next bus stop for passengers. So anyone can guess how it was like. All in all I spent about two and a half hours on my escapade.

20th.May.09. (Wed.) 1325hrs.

yesterday was a quiet day. Went to SS's house to give her a bit of help while she went to renew LW's passport. Well, it did not turn out to be a hassle, I just have to wait in the Unser for about 45mins, it was all over. Ten years ago we had to line up at the immigration office from 4am to apply for a new passport or to renew one. At that time everything which was related to the govt. departments was a big problem. To send the bas sekolan for inspection, getting and renewing the driving licences, to get any kind of forms from the govt. departments was a battle of life and death. Thank GOD suddenlly the change took place and I do not really know how and when it happened. As far as I can remember Pak Lah the then prime minister paid a surpise visit to the immigration department and that shocked them up and since then the JPJ and all other departments seemed to improve tremendously. O ya, before I went to SS's house, mon and I went to the JPJ at Setapak to change the date of the Bas Sekolah inspection and I noticed that the JPJ's office and compound was very very well organised. The office floor was spotless like that of Bank of America and the offices were arranged systematically and surprise of all surprises the crowd was not so rowdy as before. May be we were too early. The weather this morning is fine and cloudy. It drizzled the whole night last night. Plan to stay at home until the evening walk time.

21st.May.09. (Thu.) 1730hrs.

Yesterday evening for my walk I took the Rapid bus to the Tropicana Hotel and walked back all the way. Originally I planned to walk to the railway station and walk along the rainway track home but the traffic flow was very heavy, it was very difficult to cross the road to reach the railway station. The original small lane from the Ipoh road leading to the railway station has been taken up for the road proper. I mention this is because travelling by bus one has to put up with all kind of people, this one I want to high light about is the stinking passenger. This is the second one I encourtered yesterday. He was so stinking that everyone else put the hand on his/her nose once he stepped into the bus. This morning I went to SS's house again. This time my mission was to take her to the dentist to extract her wisdom tooth in Subang Parade and then went to pick LW from his private teacher's house and then back to Subang Parade to pick up SS back home. I came home after dropping them in PJ. It all lasted about one and a half hours.

23rd.May.09.(Sat.) 1245hrs.

Yesterday morning went to JPJ again, this time was to renew mom's Public Vehicle driving linence. It was a breeze exercise. The rest of the day was spent as befolow: napped, went for evening walk and went to the Selangor Club padang with mom and the maid at 9pm and finally back home to bed after a good bath. That was about mid-night. This morning the weather is fine. I got up at about 6am, as usual boiled water and made tea for myself. At bout 6.30am mom and the maid got up. Mom had a cup of tea prepared by me and shot off to Jinjang market to by fresh roasted pork for her friends at the local market while I stayed at home with my newspapers. The rest of the day will be going to the Pin Yin class at 3pm. then for an evening walk and that will wrap up the day.

25th.May.09. (Mon.) 1740hrs.

Yesterday was a quiet Sunday, stay at home the whole day alone while mom went round with Kthereen. Went to Lake Garden for evening walk by myself. It was very enjoyable. Went to KL Silverpark Snd. Bhd. at Batu Road to pay up the maintenance fees. Came back stayed at home till now. Plan to go to Titiwangsa park for a walk after dinner if it does not rain. The weather is hot and humid but it drizzle from time to time intermittenly.

27th.May.09. (Wed.) 1540hrs.

Yesterday, stayed at home for the whole day until the evening walk. Walked a big round, to Batu Village railway station, the low-cost housing estate at the Batu Lima, crossed the mair road vide the sky bridge, along the river embankment, crossed the Ipoh Road and back to home. It all took about one and a half hour. Today will be the same. Stayed at home and wait for the evening walk. The morning part was sunny and hot and now it is gloomy without sunshine. It may rain but I hope it won't be so heavy that it will prevent me from my walk.

29th.May.09. (Fri.) 1745hrs.

I remembered I wrote something last evening and it is not shown here now. May be I forgot to hit the 'save page' button. I wrote that I did not do anything except the evening walk. Well I would like to put in record what I normally do daily without fail. One thing for sure I will glance through the Chinese and English newspapers everyday. If I cnnot finish them I will keep them and finish them the next day. I will select the subjects which interest me for thorough reading. When I was in the armed forces they air dropped the newspapers and beer when they did the weekily fresh ration supply while we were in the deep jungle. The longest jungle operation we did was 28days in the state of Johore in the Mersing and Endou area with the First 10 Gurgah Battlion in 1958. Other than that we normally go in for one week or 10 days at a stretch. I read newspapers instead of books because in a book it contains a lot of the details which I consider is a waste of time to read them. It also takes a long time to finish a book.

30th.May.09. (Sat.) 1040hrs.

The morning is fine, the street is quiet because Sat. is a off day for us now except the Chinese businesses, they still have not accepted the practice yet. 4th. of June is just a few days away, so the Western press is frying up the Tianmen Square indident by publishing the memoirs of Zhou Ziyang, the prime minister of that time. If indeed he had succeeded, China would have been nothing but a huge market for the American and European goods. China would have been going back to the Chiang Kai Sherk's days. When the Westerners praise a Chinese you can bet to your bottom that he is a good tool for them. I have been very fortunate that I can read both Chinese and English otherwise I would have been totally bluffed by them.

31st.May.09. (Sun.) 1935hrs.

It had been raining since 5pm. so unable to go for a walk. Surfed the net instead. Got up at 6.30am. Read the newspapers so on and so forth, went out at 10am. round PJ, Puchong ended up in Kajang and returned to KL after a Satay meal. As I wrote yesterday the Western press particularly BBC is frying up the Tianmen Square stuff again and again running up to the 4th. June. One thing is very clear, it may be Zhou Ziyang's idea was very good and very correct but it is sad that he did not have the capability to put it into practice and also he did not have the followers to do it for him. So, to start a revolution is not all that simple. I have no sympathy for those who died in the Tianmen Square.

1st.Jun.09. (Mon) 1830hrs.

I just finished my writing for today but it was erased off. I do not know why? However, I am trying again now. At 0800hrs this morning, mom and I went to line up at the post office for the first day covers. The first day covers were issued to commemorate the first visit of the Prime Minister Dato Sri. Najib Abdul Razak to the People's Republic of China. This is the first time I am doing this sort of thing because now I have the time. They issue two types but I only got one type. The next item I wrote is about the democrates in Hong Kong parading in the street to mourn the ghosts of the victims of the 4th. of June, 1989. I visited Beijing not long after the Tianmen Square incident that I was told by the tour guide of our group that the victims who were killed were not students but some of the people who went there just to join the fun. The students had long "chaboted" because they had inside information. They are now enjoying the "hambargers" in the foreigh countries.

2nd.Jun.09. (Tue.) 1800hrs.

Woke up at 3am. and could not fall asleep again, so got up and serfed the net. Read the short story of GM motor company. It is just like we human beings, born, grow and die. Went to bed again and got up at 0615hrs, dressed up and went for morning exercise. It rained for two consecutive evenings so I have to go for the morning walk. It was so refreshing. It threatens to rain again at this moment. It rained this afternoon from about three to five pm.

3rd.Jun.09. (Wed.) 1630hrs.

Went to Puspacom with mum's bus sekolah for the half yearly examination. The menace of the tauts is still the same. Mum's bus failed in the smoke emmission. We did give the "kau tim" fees as they call it. The CNN and BBC are reminding us of the Tianmen Square thing with the video shows and articles. If the disturbance had been successful, today the Secretary of Treasury would't need to go to Beijing. The BBC should focus more on their MPs fraudulent claims problems. They make interesting readings.

4th.Jun.09. (Thu.) 1615hrs.

Went to Puspacom again for the emmission test. Passed the test. No "kau tim" money and the place was very quiet without the tauts. Todays is the day the whole world is supposed to mourn for the victims of the Tianmen Square heroes according to the Western Media. I think the memoirs is proof that Zhou was the insider of the whole thing. So it was no mistake that he was removed. The number of so-called innocent students killed in that incident is definitely no greater than the number of children and women kind in Iraq, Afganistan and Pakistan by blind bombings. It is still going on inspite of numerous confession of mistakes. So why the fuss about the Tianmen Square massacres. Why there was no commemoration on the Mai Lai massacre for the Veitnamese victimas for example? I can go on quoting many many incidents. Well, I am going to have my afternoon tea with a piece of good cake given me by SS and then we will be going to the Lake Garden for a walk.

6th.Jun.09. (Sat.) 0840hrs.

Today is the Yang diPertuan Agong's official birthday, so it is a holiday. Surfed the net and read an article in the BBC web site written by the BBC Diplomatic Editor, Brian Hanrahan, on the Tiananmen Square incident. That sparked my thought on the subject and like to put my thought in writing for the future generations. Haha! The West could have exported the Democracy stuff to China long before the establishment of the New China by the great leader MDZ. Instead the world powers were shreding China like the vouchers. Well, the best way to put it across is that DEMOCRACY is just a Luxuary Cruise Yacht a poor man just does not have the time to go on the yacht cruising around. The Westerners can enjoy life simply because they had created the wealth from the profit of the Opium trade, the toils of slaves and the other oppressed peoples from the colonies before. If there is an opportunity they will not hesitate to do it again, I bet you.

8th.Jun.09. (Mon.) 2220hrs.

Yesterday morning went to Imbi Road for breakfast after that went to the Hainanese Temple and then to Swee Ing's house. On our return we were called to the Gao association for tea. Went to Lake Garden for evening walk. Fetched the maid back from SS's house and that ended the day. The maid went to SS's new house to help cleaning it before she move in. Today is Monday, nothing special to write about. Tired of commenting anything that has nothing beneficial to myself.

9th.Jun.09. (Tue.) 1700hrs.

It was a shining morning until about 3pm., it started raining and it is still drizzling now. I hope it will allow me for the evening walk. Life if peaceful.

11th.Jun.09. (Thu.) 0830hrs.

Yesterday, I spent four and a half hours in the Science Centre with LW and the maid while his mother, poh poh and the maids cleaning and washing the new house. There was a kind of exhibition and in there was a kind of computer game that captivated him so much. I did not go in the exhibition hall because the entrance fee was RM10.00 per head. I was very tired and went to bed at 2130hrs. got up at 0530hrs. Did some exercise went to bed again and got up at 0730hrs.

14th.Jun.09. (Sun.) 0805hrs.

Friday was a normal and peaceful day. EM came to teach at 1230hrs and went off at about 1330hrs after having lunch. Went for evening walk with mom and the maid.

Saturday, that was yesterday, also a quiet day except for my Pin Yin class at 1500hrs. The exception was, took mom to join SS to attend the Silver Park meeting at the Mont Kiara clud at 1300hrs before going to the Pin Yin class. Two more sessions, the class will be over for the lower part, the middle part will begin after two weeks. If I am going to take the middle part I will do it next year because in September the GAO association will be sending a group of about ten members to join the Singapore team to China to visit the site where the first GAO clan supposedly originated. I am happy to see that President Ahmadinejad is re-elected for the political reasons. If people can be happy with the Tiananmen Square incident why not me with the President Ahmadinejad being re-elected.

Today, Sunday, the morning is very pleasant. It rained in the later part of yesterday evening and also last night so the morning is cool and bright.

17th.Jun.09. (Wed.) 1435hrs.

There was nothing happening for the last two days so there was no writing. It looks like today is also the same. I did not go out at all. Don't go round KL in the Rapid bus lately because the weather makes me reluctant to go out and secondly, it is advised that due to the HINI staff, try to avoid the crowded area, thirdly, the haze is back again. I do surf the net everyday though. Read some good articles written by some fair minded, sane and rationale people on the economic and political issues.

18th.Jun.09. (Thu.) 2210hrs.

It is a fine and quiet day. Nothing to report.

20th.Jun.09. (Sat.) 2230hrs.

This morning went to SS place to put mom in charge of cleaning the new house while I stayed in her old house to play with LW. In the afternoon went to my Pin Yin class and this is the second last session. Tomorrow will be the last session of the Pin Yin class and there will be a kind of tea party and giving out of certificates on the completion of the course.

21st.Jun.09. (Sun.) 2230hrs.

Got the atendance certificate for the Manderine Pin Yin. So now I know something about the mystery of what is called Pin Yin. Since I know the Han characters so Pin Yin will only help me to pronouce the word more accurately, that is all. Ya today is father's day, what a great day for the fathers. Well, I hope fewer people will be willing to become fathers.

23rd.Jun.09. (Tue.) 1700hrs.

Did nothing yesterday. Completely rested except went for evening walk for one solid hour.

This morning went to a computer training centre in Kepong to enrol myself to learn more on computer, like internet and what not.

25th.Jun.09. (Thu.) 1805hrs.

Went for the first computer training lesson in Tmn. Sri Bintang at Kepong. It is OK, at least learn somethng new. Three more sessions to follow.

27th.Jun.09. (Sat.) 2210hrs.

For two days, went round Setapak,Ulu Klang, Gombak and Batu Caves with the Rapid Bus. After ten o'clock the bus passengers are a bit thin. Other than that I have nothing much to write about. The rest is rutine. By the way for record purposes, I read Chairman Mao's quotaions before going to sleep.

29th.Jun.09. (Mon.) 1220hrs.

Yesterday, a quiet Sunday. Went for Wan Than Mee breadfast at Jln. Imbi. The mee seller moved from Jln. Thong Shin to this new shop. We used to patronised his mee and like it very much so we follow him to this new shop. After breakfast we went to LW's place to fetch our maid home, we loaned him the maid for a day to help in cleaning the new house. Now, the morning is cool and slightly cloudy. It is nice to stay home.

30th.Jun.09. (Tue.) 1600hrs.

Went to the 2nd. session of the computer class at 1030hrs for an hour. The next lesson will be at ll00hrs tomorrow. A lot of corrupted Chinese officials, bankers and what not ran away with millions of dollars to the West and they are protected with the excuse that if they were to be sent back to China they would be shot. So what is the difference if a cheater like Madoff is sent to jail for 150 years from being shot. The difference is the Chinese bring in money while Madoff is swindling their money. Yes, no?!

5th.Jul.09. (Sun.) 1030hrs.

It is a lovly morning. It was a winddy night and it was foggy in the early morning. Now it is a perfect weather. We got up here yesterday afternoon at 1pm gate time. The place is totally spruced up. The grass is trimmed and all the trees and shrubs are properly shaped. In fact the whole hill is really tidied up after getting RM20 million allocation. The only thing now is to maintain the standard. We plan to go back this evening at 4pm gate time.

7th.Jul.09. (Tue.) 1620hrs.

Finished my last four-hour computer lessons. It adds quite a bit to my computer usage experience. Robert McNamara the US Defence Secrectary during the Vietnam War. He was one of the main artitects of the Vietnamese war had died at age 93 yesterday. I wonder how his soul is being treated in the next wrold. I have no sympathy for the Uighurs of Xinjiang in China. They are the ungrateful people. They were the people who were driven out from the Middle East and settled in Xinjiang region.

8th.Jul.09. (Wed.) 1335hrs.

They open their mouths with the word "Democracy" and shut their mouths with the word "Human Rights" and they are living with borrowed money by issuing of so-called national or treasury bonds. With any slightest trouble in any country in any part of the world they will be the first to come out to support the trouble makers let it be racial, rioters and seperatists etc.etc. as long as there are people killed or bleedinds. They would normally harbour the criminals, corrupted officials and the half mad politicians that are beneficial to them to be their spokespersons for their particular country when the occasion arised. When do we call these type of people?

9th.Jul.09. (Thu.) 1335hrs.

I am very glad to learn that China had quickly, swiftly, resolutely, firmly, unhesitatedly put down the disturbances in Xinjiang. The message is very clear.

10th. Jul. 09. (Fri.) 1850hrs.

There is nothing special to write about to-day. The weather is fine and everything seems to be going on normally. I stay at home for the whole day.

11th. Jul.09. (Sat.) 0850hrs.

Went to Metropolitan park for a morning walk. Read the newspaper and now here I am. She is staying far away in the strongest country in the waold and from there she is directing the killing and burning in her home land. Then the white reporters come to look at the place and send out reports pictures telling the world how bad the Chinese government is, so on and so forth. The only people who suffer in all this sort of thing is her own kind. I don't understand why they do this.

13th.Jul.09. (Mon.) 1950hrs.

If one wants to know anything bad about China, first click on BBC, second on CNN, they are very good at it. However, BBC had established itself as the most reliable news station since the colonial days particularly to the English educated people. During the Japanese occupation there were people tortured to death by the Japs for tunining in to the BBC. For me, I had been always skeptical with the BBC news reports and their write up on the Asian affairs. By now I can safely say that I don't believe in any Western media's reporting.

15th.Jul.09. (Wed.) 2235hrs.

There was no internet connection for the whole yesterday. Went to TM point at Titiwangsa to complain and surprisingly the connection came in at about 10pm. I was told to wait for the telecom techincian to contact me as to when he can come to look at the computer. So, I am so happpy to be able to spend my time gainfully to night.

16th.Jul.09. (Thu.) 2015hrs.

A fine and peaceful day. Rode the Rapid bus to Gombak area-around the former Mimaland area. It took me four and a half hours for the trip. Started from Ipoh Road, changed bus at Titiwangsa bus station to 12th. mile Goambak and back.

19th.Jul.09. (Sun.) 1030hrs.

Friday, did nothing, stayed at home. Saturday, went round town with mum. Visited a Chinese goods whole sale warehouse at Sg. Besi road. Rounded the Pudu, Jln. Pasar area. The weather is glorious at this moment. Nothing special happening. A yound Chinese an aide to the state assemblyman fell to his death from the MACC (anti-corruption) office building like the CIA or KGB style. He was from DAP and was taken in by the MACC for interrogation for misuse of allocation funds from the Govt. The incident happeened two days ago.

20th.Jul.09. (Mon.) 2145hrs.

The aide was buried today. The incident had created a kind of gloomy atmosphere in the air. Someone can just be found dead at the foot of a building in such a mysterious circumstances. As for myself, I went to Kota Damansara with the Rapid Bus. I enjoyed the ride. It took me half of the morning, that is from 10am to 3.30 pm.

22nd.Jul.09. (Wed.) 2155hrs.

Tuesday, went to Silverpark managing office to pay maintenance fees in the morning part. Stayed at home for the whole day except going to Metropolitan Park at night with Mom and the maid. Today is Wednesday. Nothing to report. Stayed at home for the day and went for evening walk.

23rd.Jul.09. (Thu.) 1730hrs.

She had declared to be back in Asia. The experience we had was wherever she treaded there was nothing but sorrow and misery. ( I hope you know which country I mean.) Coincidentally I read an article in the internet carry the same idea as what I was thinking in my mind after reading the news that (she) is returning to Asia. The article mentioned that (she) had come to sow the seeds of trouble in the area.

24th.Jul.09. (Fri.) 2235hrs.

Went to OUG in Rapid Bus, after which went to have a bowl of mee for lunch at about 2.30pm. in a coffee shop in Foch Avenue. Lost the false teeth after taking it out for the mee. Will go to the coffee shop again tomorrow to see whether they find it or not when they sweep the floor for the day.

26th.Jul.09. (Sun.) 2155hrs.

The false teeth confirmed lost. The staff of the coffee shop did not find it when she swept the shop at end of the day's business. Mum had gone on 2 days and 2 nights tour of East Coast, Kelantan and Trengganu starting from Friday night. So I had been all alone for the last two days. Went to Klang for the Gao assn. committee meeting and lunch. Just for the sake of change instead of the normal norms. Had a nap and an evening walk at the lake Garden.

28th.Jul.09. (Tue.) 1140hrs.

Yesterday went to the dentist to take the mould for my false teeth at Subang Parade. SS took me there by her car and I came home by Rapid Bus from Subang to the Klang bus stand and from Centrl Market by Metro Bus to Jln. Ipoh. All that took half of the day. Took a nap and went for eveing walk. Today, the Start with the title" Uighur premiere a sell-out Down Under". After reading the article I feel that the organiser of the film fesital and the film maker are gloating that they have achieved the purpose of antagonising so many many people. For mysself I would love to see a film showing the life of the originator of the Sept. 11, to see how he planned the whole plot. He is a real genius because he could fooled the people who have been always boasting about themselves and also he had changed the course of world history. I was so happy to see the plane that smashed into the tall building and the cowards screaming and scrabling for cover.

31st.Jul.09. (Fri.) 1735hrs.

Wednesday, spent the whole morning in SS house to accompany LP and the maids because Sri. has gone to the University Hospital to report sick for stomach ache. Picked up LW from his class. Thursday, I myself went to the govt. clinic in the Ipoh Road to extract blood for examination and also to complain the right side of my adoman is feeling uncomfortable. The doc. wants me to take an X-ray before deciding what is the problem. Today, went to Selayang Hospital in the morning to make an appointment for the X-ray and so it was fixed for next Monday morning(3rd.Aug.09). Before the X-ray I was supposed to clear my stomach by taking pills for two days. Went to the dentist at Subang Parade to test the false teeth at 1200hrs. It turned out to be OK. The next appointment will be next Thursday.(7th.Aug.09).

1st.Aug.09. (Sat.) 1530hrs.

Do you want to be known? Do like Rebiya Kadeer and Dalai did. Rebiya was invited to Japan immediately after the racial riot in Xinjiang where about 200 people were killed mostly th Han race. She will be invited to visit Australia after this, according to the news report today. In Japan Rebiya declared that more than 10,000 of her own race disappeared over night after the riot. They had disappeared without any trace whatsoever, probably being eatten up. If it is true, the disappearance should continue so that the Uigburs will perish from this earth quickly. The same thing happened to the Dalai, he was invited to visit Europe immediately after the riot in Tibet.

3rd.Aug.09. (Mon.) 1625hrs.

Yesterday was Sunday, went to Kota Damansara for a look-see and tried to go to the Leper settlement but could not find the way due to poor road signs. Had a big Mac. for lunch at the Jln. Pahang outlet, all this was done with mom of course. In the evening, went to Lake Garden for a long walk and some exercises with the open air gym equipment. Today, Monday, went to the Selayang Hospital for my X-ray on the right bottom side of my abdomen because I feel painful on and off. I will confirm its readiness tomorrow before collecting it for the doctor to say what is wrong with me.

5th.Aug.09. (Wed.) 1240hrs.

Yesterday, went to Selayang Hospital to collect the X-ray film. The result is OK, nothing wong is found. The doctor gave me some medecine to clear up my urine and asked me to return for a urine test on the 7th. of Aug. Today, the title 'Clinton, 2 journalsts depart DPRK for US' aroused my feeling of anger. This is a typical story of betrayal of one's own race for the foreign race for their own selfish end. (Please read the story.) The two reporters are no better than two dead corpses to their own kind.

7th.Aug.09. (Fri.) 1910hrs.

Went round with Rapid Bus to Mah Sing kampong at the Subang district area. It is a newly opened industrial estate. It is at the outskirt of Subang Town. It took about one and a half hours of bus ride. So all in all I spent about five hours in the whole journey from home. It was an enjoyable exercise. The two US journalists of the Korean origin had done very well for the propaganda purpose with the tearful happiness and embraces of their saviours. It was all shown in the TV for the whole world to see.

9th.Aug.09. (Sun.) 1205hrs.

Yesterday was Saturday, rested at home for the whole day after the long journey in the Rapid Bus on Friday. In the evening went to Lake Garden for walk and exercise. There was not many children playing due to the HINI and haze. However I enjoyed it very much. This morning got up at 6am. Read newspapers after tea and bread as usual. Plan to go to GAO assn. for chinese tea and after that go to SS's house to take LW to the Lake Garden. That will be the day.

11th.Aug.09. (Tue.) 1640hrs.

After the Sunday evening walk, so stayed at home resting the whole Monday except walking to Taman Kok Lian in the afternoon just to get a bit of exercise and a bit of hot sun. This morning went to the govt. clinic for urine test. A trace of blood is still in it so I have to go back there next week.

15th.Aug.09. (Sat.) 1440hrs.

The internet connection had been on and off for the last three to two days. Went to the TM point at the Titiwangsa to sort out the problem but it did not do a good job, till now the connection is still is still the smae. Rang up for Lip to come to have a look at it. It was terrible without the internet. I felt that I had been out of this world and also the time was so difficult to pass. However, there was nothing great happening in the last three days worth recording about.

17th.Aug.09. (Mon.) 1535hrs.

To get help from the Telecom is really tough. They will push you off politely with all kind of excuses such as asking you to check your computer connections with funny funny technical terms as long as they don't have to do anything. My internet connection had been on and off for the last few days a least four days already. It is really frustrating.

20th.Aug.09. (Thu.) 0714hrs.

The telecom man came to get my computer working again yesterday. It makes me very happy because it enables me to pass my time happily. There was nothing much to write about for the last few days. The days passed on peacefully and beautifully.

22nd.Aug.09. (Sat.) 1848hrs.

Yesterday took Rapid Bus to One Utama via Damansara side i.e. by Northern route. The purpose was to explore the shopping complex to make more familiar. As it is now, we are so confuse with the shopping complex. Today is Sunday, I cut short the writting yesterday because mom was ready to go for the evening walk. We went to the lake garden for the walk. It was very very quiet because it was the first day of the muslims fasting month.

23rd.Aug.09. (Sun.) 1220hrs.

Last night we watched the MJ TV show up to 0100hrs. Believe it or not before this I really did not know what he did and what he sang to make him so famous. As far as I know none of his songs is nice to me. I could not make out what he sang about except screaming. To me his dancing is so monotonous and meaningless. However, I must admit that a lot, a lot of people like it. I got up at seven and now we are prepaing to go to Melaka with EM for two nights stay. The newspaper is full of reports on the released of the Lockerbie bomber. It upsets the famalies of the victims of the disater in US and this I think served them right just like inviting the Dalai Lama and protecting Rebiya Kadeer by ignoring the feeling of others.

25th.Aug.09. (Tue.) 2010hrs.

Went to Melaka with EM on Sunday evening because EM wanted to see Mai Wah. Passed two nights and returned this afternoon. Too tired to write anything. However, I enjoyed the walk in the Bukit China among the graves and walked along the river banks.

28th.Aug.09. (Fri.) 1050hrs.

Telecom Malaysia blamed us for failing to pay June's bill, so they cut off our line for two days and just restored it this morning. We went to complain at the TM point yesterday they promised that the restpration would be done after four hours and that should be at 4.30pm yesterday. Of course it was uncomfortable without the internet surfing.

lst.Sep.09. (Tue.) 1745hrs.

Absent for two days. Went to Betong, a small Thai town as large as Seremban located in the Sourthern Thailand and North of Malaysian border. By road we have to go through Baling in Perak. That area was infested with the Malayan Communist Guerrillas during the Malayan Emergency(1948-1961). Now we know that they had a permanent base there and after the peace accord they opened it for us to visit to see how they had been living there. That is the reason I am interested to go there. What I found out that they were doing exactly like what the Viet Cong did in Vietnam except that it was in a smaller scale. Of course Viet Cong had the direct aid from China and Russia.

The day when I spend RM 1.00 can go round the whole KL had come to an end on the 1st.Sep.09.. Now every trip must be paid separately. For example, last time I paid RM 1.00 ticket I could go to Jusco in Kepong and with the same ticket came back home. But now I have to spend RM 1.80 to go and come back. (Remember I am a senior citizen.) Yesterday I went to Chow Kit area for a walk and today I went to Kepong area for a walk at the same just wanted to know what the charging system is all about.

Yesterday went to pay the Silverpark apartment's maintenance fees but failed to do so because we could not get a place to park our car. The city was choked with Hari Raya shoppers. Rested at home for the rest of the day. This morning we went to collect our passports from the tour agency after getting the visa for China trip and returned after lunch at the Batu village. The city is jammed with vehicles.

Monday, that was yesterday, went to Silverpart office in town to pay the maintenance fees for the second quarter of '09. Also went to the business registration office to renew the business licence for the bas sekolah. At this poin of time there is no plan for today. It most probably will be a peaceful day.

18th.Sep.09. (Fri.) 1113hrs.

Arrived home at about 0330hrs. this morning. It was an interesting and tiring journey. We moved every night from city to city. All in all we travelled about 15ookgs in the central region. We visited the origin of GAO ancester and his grave. The visit had fulfilled my wish of founding the GAO association. Impression of China: Every Chinese is like a worker-ant or worker-bee. It will definitly be a great nation.

23th.Sep.09. (Wed.) 1040hrs.

Hari Rays fell on Sunday and Monday, so Tuesday took the place of Sunday. There was nothing much taking place during the long spell of holiday. We took the opportunity to go round the city and of caurse it was devoid of vehicles. We took a complete rest during the holidays.

I just find that I have nothing worthwhile to write about. When I read the newspapers daily I find that there are a lot of complaints. Practically complaints for every subject that is happening. My own problem lately is that I annot sleep a long deep sleep at night. I would get up after about one or one and a half hours stretch and then refused to fall asleep again. Other than that I am feeling OK.

29.Sep.09. (Tue.) 0334hrs.

Neighbour's dog woke me up at 0230hrs. and could not fall asleep again, so got up and surfed the net. Yesterday, stayed at home the whole day. Went for a one hour forty five minutes evening walk. Went to bed at 2330hrs.

I wish China a happy 60th. National Day. I am really fortunate that in my twilight years I finally able to see a China that is growing from strength to strength. A China which can do things on its own ideas without resorting to copying from others. China had suffered a lot from the Imperialism, Colonalism and Militarism. I hopr when it becomes strong it will be a peaceful, co-operative and harmonious nation.
