Revision as of 13:18, 23 March 2014 by Askoh (Talk | 2011 June 24 13th.Jul.11. (Wed.) 2305hrs. Went to TNB hq. at Melawati to settle the electricity deposit for the JMB P4D1. Stayed home until time for the evening walk. Actually went to the Popular Book Store to just look see for any new things happening or not. 15th.Jul.11. (Fri.) 2035hrs. Went to University Hospital for eye check. It is found that both eyes are very ok, the next check will be six months from today. Heavy rain prevented me for my evening walk, otherwise the day was just as normal. 17th.Jul.11. (Sun.) 2045hrs. Just came back from FH after spending a night there. The surounding is very well maintained now since taken over by the JMB. Due to lack of funds the buildings need facelift badly and urgently. 20th.Jul.ll. (Wed.) 1050hrs. Just wonder who was the first guy who used the word 'golden age' for the old people. How can it be golden age while the old people have to see the doctors so frequently for so many kinds of illness. In this month alone I have been to UH for my eyes, the dentist and yesterday to the clinic for the result of the blood test. Luckily there is not much of a big problem. Is that what is 'golden age'. It must be kidding?! 23rd.Jul.ll. (Sat.) 2130hrs. The good news is Lai Changxing the greatest Chinese smuggler is on his way home after escaping arrest for 12yrs by living in Canada. The bombing and shooting in Norway will wake up the Norvegians I hope otherwise they are very complacent and creat mischief to others from time to time. 25th.Jul.ll. (Mon.) 1905hrs. Went to Midvalley this morning by train. Bought some imported biscuits from Mark and Spancer. Went to MPH to look at the latest issue of the Chinese English and English Chinese dictionary. Didn't buy any. I already have a smaller version one. I am glad that Col. Gadaffi is still in Lybia, let the Nato nations that take part in the bombing of Lybia bomb themselves into bankcrupcy. Just don't let them win easily. 28th.Jul.ll. (Fri.) 0013hrs. Yesterday stayed at home except going for the evening walk. Watched the CNTV and surfed the net. Glad to know that the Chinese submesible ship can reach the dept of 5188m. The Chinese is also trying to outfit a aircraft carrier for training. It is better to be late than never. The KMT gov. in Taiwan is waiting for their foreign uncle to up-grade their warplanes as it has always been. lst.Jul.11. (Mon) 0430hrs. I am waiting anxiously to see what will be the US debt ceiling voting result. 2nd.Jul.11. (Tue.) 2315hrs. As expected the result of the debt-ceiling drama is always ended undramatically as any other issues. All that debates and arguments are for show only. More debts will be more troubles waiting ahead. Once it is in debt it is difficult to be solvent again. 6th.Jul.11. (Sat.) 2115hrs. Actually, there seems to be nothing worthy to write about. Life have been going on normally. The morning exercise and the evening walk is never missed. 10th.Jul.11. (Wed.) 1255hrs. Now that the flame is burning in their own backyard, so let us see how they handle the situation. Do you remember the torch grabbing for the Beijing Olympic, how gleeful they were? 11th.Jul.11. (Thu.) 2250hrs. The BBC is really great, with the riot in its own country it still has the time to worry about famous Chinese artist Mr. Ai Wei Wei with the title "Artist Ai 'felt close to death.' There are a lot of articles about their own social problems. So mind your problems before you laugh at other people. 20th.Aug.ll. (Sat) Wow! had been lasy for nine days but actually there is nothing fresh to write about. The whole world is bore. The war in Lybia is still going on, the most interesting thing is that they are not shooting at the human enemy but to the thin air. I presume that they don't kill but to make a lot of noise to frighten the enemy. They dressed in singlet and don't carry any ration or ammo. They don't take aim but just shoot blankly into the opposit side. You don't see any man or soldier being killed. The news from the foreign news agency is comical. Kol. Gaddafi's sons had been killed so many times but still appearing. The NATO has got another month to drop their bombs then it will depend whether they still can afford to carry on or not. 24th.Aug.11. (Wed.) 1240hrs. Does it matter who win, afterall the people who died were Libyans and the survivours will have to work to pay for the bombs and ammo given to win the hulaha - the Libyans. The real winners are the people who hid behind the screen. Pity isn't it? 6th.Sep.ll. (Tue.) 1005hrs. Went to Zhangjianjie (central part of China) for an eight days tour, from 28th. Aug. to 4th. Sep.. In between visited MZT's former house, his Stone Statue in Shaoshan village. I took a round walk and paid a three bows respect to the statute. The main attraction is the rocky formations in the park. Both of us climbed the famour 999 steps to reach the heaveny stone gate. The steps are just like the normal staircase steps. Quite a number of people who are younger than we are were scared to do it. From Changsha city to Zhangjiajie where the rocky park is is about three hundred over miles apart, along the way I was gled to see the new brick houses, the padi field was covered with golden ripe padi and various greenery. The highway is smooth and the whole length of the road is covered with trees and well-kept shrubs in the middle of the roads. In my heart I can feel the dynamism of China. Talk of Changsha city, it has a special meaning to me because it was mentioned in the book 'Defeat into Victory' by Field-Marshal Viscount Slim that the only victory for China from the long Sino-Japanese war during the WWll was in the battle of Changsha city. Of course this is only his own opinion. He was the commander of the allied forces in Burma at that time. 2011/09/10 Good writing. Interesting to hear your thinking. Aik-Siong llth.Sep.ll (Sun.) 1030hrs. Today is a very good day, it is cloudy and so it is not hot. It rains for a while in the evening but it did not prevent me from my evening walk at the Metropolitan park. Indeed it is a very good Sep.ll. It should be more of the Sep.ll days. 15th.Sep.11. (Thu.) 2205hrs. It is foolish to believe that the Libyans are free now, the real victors are the bombs and ammunitions suppliers. They are the people who will have the total free hands to set the stage for next episodes of events. episodes of events to come. 20th.Sep.ll. (Tue.) 2240hrs. The weather is kinder now, it is not so hot and humid. The North-East monsoon is already here. It rains practically everyday, either in the evening or morning. Well, life is normal for me. Knowing a lot of the world affairs from the internet. The West is in deep trouble with the national debts. They had been showing off with their luxurious lifestyle to the world with the borrowed money and now it is hard for them to pay back the debts. 22nd.Sep.ll. (Thu.) 2135hrs. The weather is splendid. It is cloudy and cool. Poor Chinese KMT in Taiwan, they are still at their old ways. They are jubilant at being able to buy arms from their old time uncle to kill their own kind. They even seek approval for their presidential election. Just wonder since when the Chinese had been so disgraceful. 27th.Sep.ll. (Wed.) 1120hrs. The morning is cool and bright. Last night was a dog-barking free night because the three young strays were taken away by the Bandaraya dog catchers. In Malaysia it is a trend that most of the Chinese households will keep one dog or may be more and that because some dogs are kept behind the fence and some are free to roam around so there will be a lot of barking going on. In the evening the dogs that are kept behind fences make speicial noises and barkings. I am a Chinese but I do not like to keep dogs because I do not want spending time to care of them. I want to spend time on my own. Strangely enough I did not see any dogs running around in the streets in China. Another interesting thing is I did not see any birds flying in the sky or on the trees even in the wooded area. I have noticed this on my many trips that I have been to China. I am sure you might have guessed the answer in my mind. 29th.Sep.11. (Thu.) 2333hrs. In the morning part went to attend the funeral of a member of Gao Assn. He died of kidney failure at age of 56. Watched the whole process of the space lab Tiangong l launch in CNTV from 2100hrs to about 2140hrs when it was announced that it is successful. Switched to BBC just to confirm how fast is the BBC, true enough it was there in its web site with a sourish head line "Tiangong-l launch betrays China's earthly ambitions". I do not really understand what the white men try to mean. But not a word is mentioned in the ll pm world news in MTV l in Malaysia. 10th.Nov.ll. (Thu.) 0920hrs. The day is fine. Went to JMB office for a while and went for the evening walk. Get ready to go to S,pore early in the morning by bus to attend the S'pore GAO association's 63th. anniversary celebration dinner. We have 10 members to attend. The S'pore GAO association was established in l948 before the separation and therefore it was the only association to represent the GAO clansmen in the then Malaya. My father was a member of the association. It is called Koh association because GAO is pronounced in Hokkien dialect as Koh. I remember my father was issued with a membership certificate and it was burnt when he passed away because it is believed that whatever belongs to him must be burnt to follow him. When I am there I will try to trace as to whether any record to this effect is still being held by the assn.. 14th.Nov.ll. (Mon.) 2140hrs. The 60th. celebration dinner was great, there were plenty of singing and the women section presented lovly dances. They must have put in a lot of hard work. Mum and EM spent the whole Sat. on shopping while I roam around the see more of the Singapore. Spent the Sunday morning to look for Koh assn. premise and finally found it. Spent about half an hour there taking some pictures and found there is no record of my father's membership. Went round the waterfront and took 4.30pm bus home. Worthy of note was Heng Jin donated S$10,000 to the S'pore Koh assn. that night. The joke was he asked me to announce it to the audience, instead I announced it as one hunder dollars so it was put right immediately by their president. 21st.Nov.11. (Mon.) 1950hrs. This evening is special, it is not raining. Went for morning walk because scared that it may rain in the evening. Went to town for a walk about to pass time. 22nd.Nov.ll. (Tue.) 2055hrs. Went to Batu Cave with mum, maid and Lip Wern and spent about three hours there and went to Kepong for roast-duck lunch. He wanted to go there to shoot at the monkeys with the toy gun. But then when we were he took pity on the monkeys and did not shoot them at all instead he tried to scare the pigeons and shot at them playfully. After lunch his mother came to take him home. By the way we took the train to Batu Cave and it was quite an enjoyable afternoon. It rained in the evening but I went to the Tmn. Rainbow for my evening excise for about thirty five mins. when the rain stopped at about seven. 24th.Nov.11. (Thu.) 2315hrs. Today is a fine day, there was no rain at all. Life is quiet for all of us. We went to have an Indian curry lunch at the Tmn Mastiara and went for an evening walk as usual. Mum is getting ready to go to Hatnyai with the Han gang because they feel that they should all get together once in a while. They will start going at 6.30 tomorrow morning and return on Sunday night. 28th.Nov.ll. (Mon.) 1910hrs. I have been living single life for the past three days while mum and maid went to Hatnya in Thailand. The rain is stopping me from going for an evening walk. Yesterday evening was the same, the monsoon rain is in its full force now. In the morning part went to Putrajaya by bus and took the innercity bus to go round the city for fifty sens only. The bus is going round the town to serve the residents to move place to place within the town. The town is well planned and it is kept very clean and tidy. Sorry I am still nor sure whether Putrajaya is a city or town. lst.Dec.ll. (Thu.) 2245hrs. Normal day wirhout any worthwhile event to write about. 4th.Dec.11. (Sun.) 0530hrs. 2.12.ll. (Fri.) Went to Machap to attend my grandpa's great grand son's wedding dinner. It was a grand dinner and we drove back after the dinner at 10pm and reach KL at 2am. My grandpa's son grew up with me but the rest of the family was not known to me until very lately. Last night that was 3.12.ll, went to attend Loke assn. 39th. anniversary. 7th.Dec.ll. (Wed.) 2240hrs. It rains daily but it does not cause big problems. Life goes on as usual. Tomorrow night we will be attending another assn. dinner to be held in a Chinese school hall at Sentul. I think this will be the last assn. dinner for 2011. 9th.De.ll. (Fri.) 1625hrs. No rain up to this point of time, it may suddenly start thundering and pour with rain. Went to JPJ with mum this morning and to the management office for a while. Last night attended the "The Federation of Malaysia Chinese Surname Associations" lst. annual aniversary dinner. It is the mother of all the surname associations in this country. I think this is a good idea so that we have a leader to co-ordinate and initiate all the conducive activities. 12th.Dec.ll. (Mon.) 2145hrs. Fine day. Read newspapers and surfed the net. Knew a lot of the world affairs. The EU seems to have agreed on the solutions to solve their economic problems except to see the end results to come. Iran seems to have the technical know-how to capture the pilotless plance from their enemy. I hope they really have it so that the super power can be checked for their wrecklessness. 15th.Dec.ll. (Thu.) 1900hrs. It is raining now so cannot go for a walk. Yesterday evening also rained but it stopped at about this time, it made my shoes wet when I insisted in walking. According to the news report it flooded the Bt. Bintang and Cheras area. So far the monsoon rain has not done a lot of damage in the country. 18th.Dec.11. (Sun.) 1700hrs. Cloudy day but without rain. Non-eventful Friday and Saturday except that we took Mei Wah and her husband to a Chineses restaurant dinner in Jinjang. We fetched them from EM's house and sent them back by train from our Batu Kentonman station after the dinner at 2244hrs because the train go straight from here to Subang Jaya station. They rang up to say that they have arrived at about 0hrs. 24th.Dec.11. (Sat.) 1815hrs. It had been peaceful and quiet for the past 5 days. Nothing special to write about. It has been cloudy but fine day. No evening walk for this evening because we are waitting for Lip Wern to come to celebrate his birthday as well as the X'mas. Strangely enough we don't hear any X'mas songs and music at all. Not like before we could feel X'mas is coming with the X'mas songs and hymn in the air. It is like the CNY without the firecrackers. 31st.Dec.ll. (Sat.) 0500hrs. Xmas had come and gone. As nomal we did nothing special except the usual turkey dinner with the family members only on Thursday night (29th.Dec.ll.). 3rd.Jan.12. (Tue.) 2135hrs. Went up to Fraser's Hill on lst.Jan.12. for two nights. The place is well maintained by the JMB except that the whole compleks should be completely re-white washed otherwise it looks terrible. It is not done because the unit owners are not paying their dues. Hope that with the present JMB's conserted effort to collect the dues from the unit owners, the resort will be put to its proper conditions. 8th.Jan.12 (Sun.) 2240hrs. It had not rained for about two weeks so the weather is very stuffy and hot. It is not very comfortable for our daily life. Life had been pretty normal for the last five days. 14th.Jan.12. (Sat.) 1045hrs. It is a lovely morning. It is fine, the sun is not too hot and the air is cool. Got up at six in the morning and went to the Tmn Rainbow's small park for exercise because I missed the evening walk yesterday due to raining. Surfed the net and learnt that the Euro crisis is appearing again and the situation between Iran and the West is very quiet. I think this is so-called the lull before the storm. 27th.Jan.12. (Fri.) 2300hrs. Luckily, went to Tmn. Rainbow for the morning exercise because it rained in the evening so it prevented me from going my evening walk. As I drove out of the gate a police patrol car was at the back of me. It signaled me to stop. I stopped and asked why, was told that my road tax has expired. True enough I had been driving without insurance and road tax since Nov. 20ll. I asked them to let me off for RM50 otherwise I will have to pay RM600.00 fine. So, that is how it goes, both of us benefitted. The question is how do they know that my road taxed had expired as they were driving behind me. That is the magic. However I have no bone to grind. Stayed home for the rest of the day surfing the net and reading the newspapers. 29th.Jan.12. (Sun.) 0250hrs. Actually I wanted to write before I went to bed last night but the internet failed to function. Luckily I went for a long morning walk yesterday morning because it rained heavily in the evening. Peter and EM came at about 1130hrs and Peter gave me and PP a RM1,000 ang pow each. EM had given the ang pows earlier. I went to lunch at the batu tiga coffee shop because mum had gone for lunch with her friends. Napped and stayed at home for the rest of the evening due to the raining. 30th.Jan.12. (Mon.) 2200hrs. Went to renew the insurance and road tax and spent the rest of the morning roaming the city. The city is still half asleep not until day after tomorrow after the ninth day of the lunar calendar. Beside that life is as normal. I went to the city by bus and returned by train. 31st.Jan.12. (Tue.) 2325hrs. Today is the nineth day of the Chinese New Year and it is the Hokkian people's new year day. Last night was their new year eve and therefore they let off a lot of firecrackers to welcome the big day. The noise continues right up to 2am. It rained heavily from 5am right up to about 6.30am. So the whole day was cloudy and the air was quite cool. Went to the JMB office to see if there is anything for me to do. That wraps up my day. lst.Feb.12. 2225hrs. 1st. of Feb. is the Wilayah Day and therefore it is a holiday. Dare not venture out of the area where we live because the city will be crowded with the foreign workers. Went to Batu Cave by train for my evening exercise by climbing the 272 steps up and down. It is crowded there because they are preparing for the Thaipusum festival on the 6th. of this month. They are putting up the tents, installing the lamp posts etc.etc.. Some early whoshippers are doing their praying before the actual date in order to avoid the maddening crowd. 2nd.Feb.12. (Thu.) 2110hrs. Tried on the sky-walk around the Jln. Perak area connecting various high rise buildings and ending up at the Pavilian complex and the convention hall. That area is newly built up area in the golden triangle. The sky-walk is like a big container-like structure built above the ground with air-con for pedestrians to walk with comfort. The rain stopped me for about half an hour to reach the KL railway station to board the train. After boarding the train it moved slowly with several stops on the way and when it reached the Sentul station the passengers were told to come down to wait for another train to take them to Batu Cave without any explaination. The waiting took about forty five minutes when the train came from Batu Cave to take us to Batu Cave. The reason was the train was running on one track because there was some repare work being carried out on the other line. By the time I reached home it was alredy four forty five. I was really dead tired. Had a bath, had a cup of Chinese tea then watched my favorite CCTV4 programme from 5 to 6pm and had a 45mins nap and had the dinner and back to normal again. 4th.Feb.12. (Sat.) 2130hrs. I do not know why I was so tired last. I was so sleepy that I went to bed at about 9.30pm. Slept well for the night and got up 6am. Went to the Tmn. Rainbow small park for exercise at about 7am for about one hour. I don't like the park there because it is small and the people there are all regulars so u keep on seeing them and the next thing is the barking dogs. It is really anonying, since the residents there are more well off so they buy bigger dogs so that they bark louder. It is status symbol that kind of thing. Went to the JMB office to make out a cheque for the electricity bill and after that went to Mamak coffee shop for a tea tarek and a roti chanai for lunch. As for the rest of the day just stayed home. Since today is Saturday so life is at its laziest point. 5th.Feb.12. Sun. 2330hrs. The biggest event of today is the GAO association CNY celebration. EM and I attended it without mum as she had other programme with her group of friends. I donated RM100, EM donated RM80.00 and Heng Jin asked me to donate RM200.00 for him while he is away in S'pore. There was quite a big crowd. The programme started from lpm until 3pm. Of course ang pow for the children is a must and the lucky draws and quessing games for the attendents were also arranged. The food were fried mee, fried meehoom, chicken curry and one or two other tib bits plus an assortment of fruits of course with the mandarine oranges. The party went on quite happily with everybody smiling away till the end. The next big event was we went round the lake at the Taman Metropolitan for our evening walk. It took us a solid one hour walk. 7th.Feb.12. (Tue.) 2125hrs. How nice? yesterday was Prophet Mohd's birthday, it was a holiday. Stayed home until in the evening went to Lake Garden for evening walk and had a mamak fried mee and mutton matabab for dinner. The maid was taken away by EM to help her in preparation of the NYC party in her house. Today is Thaipusum day and it is a holiday too. Went to EM's house for lunch on the left over of the last night party. After lunch EM and mum went for their own programme while I went for a foot massage. I was very tired and had a nap for about one hour. No evening exercise. 9th.Feb.12. (Thu.) 0705hrs.(Note: this event is for 8th.Feb.12) It was very crowded in the govt. clinic at the Kg. Batu, it took me three hours to see the doctor for my normal check up. The reason was due to the holiday on Wed. The result of the check-up was normal. The next check-up will be in four months time. 10th.Feb.12. (Fri.) 2330hrs. Yesterday, that was Thursday, morning went to JMB office to check on the clerk's performance. Received a complaint from one of the unit owners that a water tank from the roof top is over flowing. The problem was fixed by 6pm. This morning went to see Heng Jin and also to collect the RM200.00 that I paid for him for the CNY do held by the GAO assn. last Sunday as he was away from KL on that day. Reached home is already 2pm and what followed was a daily rutine for me.)
(Start Here Pa. 18th.Apr.12. (Wed.) 2230hrs. Went to town by bus to survey the Chinese writing brush and papers to practise writing the grandchildren's Chinese names. I plan to write their Chinese names on drawing papers myself to give them as souvenir when they come in May. Otherwise they will never know their names in Chinese. What the effect will ultimate imprint unto them is left to be seen. 20th.Apr.12. (Fri.) 2200hrs. Let me continue with the Colonel's story. Arrived home after a week's holiday in the East Coast, as our car stopped at the gate I saw him curled up sound asleep in the porch. I called his name softly but there was no response, so I called his name lounder, he suddenly lift up his head to listen and turned his head to look at the direction where the sound came from and lo he saw me standing there and instantly ran to me and put his fore legs on me with his tail waging vigourously as if he was embracing me and making the gesture of kissing my body. Obviously he was very very happy to see again. How he must have felt during my absence I could not fathom. It touched me deeply and till today I still can reflect on the scene vividly. 22nd.Apr.12. (Sun.) 1945hrs. A sunny and hot Sunday. At 1200hrs the swearing-in ceremony for the Gao assn. was held in a restaurant near the assn. building. The past presidents of the assn. were invited to witness the ceremony. Heng Jin, his wife and son Peng Guan were present. Heng Jin donated RM10,000 to the assn. Actually we plan to give him a 81th. birthday party but he turned it down by saying that he never celebrate his birthday, so he think that it is not necessary to have one for the 81th. birthday as well. In response to the good gesture he donated the money. The whole process of the swearing-in ceremony went off smoothly and everyone present was happy. It cost the assn. nearly RM1,500. After the lunch we adjourned to the assn. to hold the first committee members meeting for the new set of committee members. We set out the new tasks to be carried out for 2012. We decided to have our annual lunch to solicit funds on 9th. of November 2012. The meeting ended at 5pm. 25th.APr.12. (Wed.) 2135hrs. Have been busy preparing the statements of account for second quarter of 2012 for P4D1. Other than that there was nothing worthwhile to note down. The problem we have is the large amount of debts. Yet the relevant authority is not coming out strongly to help to collect the amount due. Well, there is no use of complaining. We just slog on from day to day to the best of our ability. 2nd.May.12. (Wed.) 1435hrs. Went for a 3 days 2 nithts tour of S'pore and Batam island of Indonesia from 27th. - 30th. of Apr. There was nothing great to see in Batam island really. Except the high rise hotels the rest of the town is just like the Malaysian kampongs. There is no luxuriou restaurants to cater for either Europeon or Chinese foods to talk about. There is no sunny and sandy beaches. So I just wonder what people go there for. For us we just want to satisfied our curiosity since there is a lot of reports of happenings on the island in the press. We passed a night in a cheap hotel called 81 hotel in S'pore The air-con. is OK, the bed is comfortable but the tv is with few channels and there is no place to put your soiled clothes and there is no hook or rack to hang you wet towel. The next morning while waiting for the time to board the bus for home, of course I bought a copy of Chinese and English newspaper each to read and strangly enough I found that they were so boring and dry. In the past I used to enjoy reading the S'pore newspapers bothe in Chinese and English. Now I think since I can get the news and knowledge from the direct sources from the internet, so what we can read from the newspapers seem to be out of date already. Yesterday was Labour Day, of course it was a holiday. Went to see the Chinese Navy training ship 'Chenghe" at South Port Port Klang. We were just allowed to go round the deck one complete round of the ship. It took us a great pain to have the opportunity to see it because the crowd was tremendous. I think this is an indication to the fact that the Chinese are proud of their ancestors' land although it is quite a small ship compared to the ones that are owned by the super-power, but the ray of hope is in the horizon that the day will come that the Chinese Navy will be as strong as that of other powers. 3nd.May.12. (Thu.) 1635hrs. I pity the blind Chinese dissident Chen Guancheng that he failed to relise that he is valueless for the Western propoganda that is why they did not send a special plane to take him and his family away quickly. 4th.May.12. (Fri.) 2325hrs. The weather is very very hot today. No rain. Let me tell you another dag's story. This time is my grandpa's black dog. His name is 'itam' in Malay. The time was when I was about seven and eight years old. I still can visualise him curling on the floor mat in the centre of the main door of my grandpa's house. He was a quiet dog he did not simply bark for nothing. The next thing I remember about him in particular is that he used to sit in waiting when my auntie poured the biscuits into a big biscuit tin brought back from Melaka Town by my grandpa because she would give him two pieces after completing the job. He would be happy to eat them. The biscuit was from the left over bread cut into blocks and put into oven again to bake them dry. My grandpa used to buy them from a bakery in Melaka. We ate them with black coffee for breadfast. 6th.May.12. (Sun.) 1700hrs. This part of KL is quiet, I don't know other part of KL is peaceful or not. Lately due to the gen. election is eminent so there is a lot of demonstrations going on. Now that the mother of human rights and democracy had gone home, so there should not be any more of the blind dissident's drama going on. The staging of the drama was very well planned. They must have hoped that thousand and thousand of supporters of the blind man would go to the Thiananmen Square. They spared no efforts to creat trouble for other people. 10th.May.12. (Thu.) 2300hrs. It took me three hours to go by train to Subang Jaya to bring back the maid from EM place by train as well. It will take as long if I use my car because of the jam etc. By train it cost only RM2.30 for the maid while as a senior citizen I got a free ride for three months otherwise it cost half ware for me. In the evening there was a big thunder storm raging on for about two hours. So there was no evening walk. 12th.May.12. (Sat.) 0515hrs. Woken up by the barks of the dogs at 4am and just couldn't fall asleep again. One of the annoying things of living with the Chinese neighbourhood is the barking dogs. Last time the noises made by the Chinese population was their loud talkings, loud radio music, car honkings etc.etc. When you go for morning walk you can hear them clapping their hands while walking. To me it is very annoying. I like to walk by myself quietly just to stop talking because people have been talking too much. All the troubles either big or small are caused by talkings. Comparatively the Chinese are more civilised now. 13th.May.12. (Sun.) 0435hrs. This morning the dog-barking is less. it may be due to the cooler weather. Yesterday we spent the whole morning in the PUSPACOM. This time the PUSPACOM is totally reorganised and it had really got rid of the corruption activity like last time. We will see how long it will last. We gave a farewel dinner to the maid who is going home after five years with us. We invited uncle Loon and wife, Mai Chin and her fatty daughter with her boy friend and the new maid. She will be leaving at llam with the Air Asia. 13th.May.12/ (Sun.) 2325hrs. Went to SS's house with the maid at about 10am. Proceeded to the LCCT at about 1100hrs. After checking in they bid farewell to her wihtout me. We started our journey home at about 2pm and stopped at Taipan USJ for some food as we had missed our lunch. Sent EM to SS's house to pick up her car and maid. By the time we arrived home it was already about 4.30pm. Had a nap for one hour. Thinking of going for a walk at the Metropolitan garden but the darkening sky prevented me for that. It was already about 6.30pm.,so gave up the idea of the evening walk. As we were preparing to go out for our dinner uncle Loon called and asked us whether we are happy to go to his house for dinner as he had boiled chicken(pak cham kai) and chickem soup for dinner. So we ended up having dinner in his house. It was a delicious dinner. 16th.May.12. (Wed.) 2225hrs. There is nothing to write about my psesonal life. It had been non eventful for the last three days. The weather is extremely hot and uncomfortable. The US $2b loss by the JP Morgan is quite a news. That is what it is said in the Malay proverb that "tupai pandai pandai l0mgpat, satu hari jatoh juga". That is good enough for time being. 18th.May.12. (Fri.) 1755hrs. Yesterday, went to top up my prepaid card for travelling in the Rapid transport system vehicles like Buses, LRT etc. at the Klang Bus Station LRT station. The Klang Bus station is being torn down to make way for the MRT station. Few other buildings will be involved and this has raised protest from the property ownners in the Sultan Street claiming that it is a historical heritage and it should be preserved as it is. I really don't know what is the real reason for it. I thought the MRT station will bring prosperity to the area. After seeing a lot of modern cities, KL is really a rundown city. 19th.May.12. (Sat.) 0000hrs. Went to PUSPACOM again, this time passed the test. So we can relax for another six months. Congratulations to the blind Chinese activist and his family members, they can now enjoy eating hamburgers in the country of its origin. They must be very happy now. Another thing that linger in my mind that I just cannot put it away without sayng something about it that is the govt. of KMT Taiwan is buying 66 pieces of the F16 for now and other weaponry to follow soon. KMT Taiwan is hailed as presenting the Free and Democractic China and it has to depend on buying arms to protect its while the mainland China is developing its own weaponry, that is why they have been blamed for not transparant and as a threat etc. So as a Chinese whick China you prefer? 22nd.May.12. (Tue.) 2220hrs. Sunday, went to Jln Pasar to see the sunday market and the Pudu big marke because we had not been there for three years. Monday, took Sung Fong to the veteran office at the Jln. Tun Dr. Ismail to see what he can get from the dept. since he left the service without pension. The govt is giving RM 3,ooo to the ex-home guards, Junior Liason Officers, and AC's and other servicemen who serve during the Emergency from 1948-1964. The answer is there is nothing for him since he left the armed forces much later when the emergency was over. However they are trying to persude the govt. to give this bunch of ex-servicemen some aid. To-night saw the footage from the TV that those potesters in the demonstration against the 20 summit held in Chicago is a bunch of timid, pale and frial crowd. I doubt there is anybody would care to listen to them. 24th.May.12. (Thu.) 1630hrs. Wed. Went to the Public Bank headquarter at Jln. Raja Chulan to change the new names of signatory for the Koh's assn. cheques since the President and Treasurer of the assn. have changed after the 1912 AGM. This morning went to JPJ to renew mom's driving licence. 27th.May.12 (Sun.) 1025hrs. Life have been very quiet for the last few days. This morning went to the Metropolitan garden for a morning exercise for about 45 minutes. Went to Tmn. Kolican for breakfast. As I surf the net everyday, it dawns to me that I am very fortunate to be able to read and write Chinese. I can communicate with my Chinese ancestors through their writings and carving or whatever they left behind to tell us of their experiences etc., and to listen to their stories in their own language. Through the CNTV I have learnt that the Chinese had not been totally sleeping in the last five thousand years of their history. They have the brain and a pair of good hands with which they can produce beautiful things. At this point of time the only thing the Chinese should do is to produce the war weaponries as good as if not better than the West and their have got.) ← Older revision | 2011 June 24 13th.Jul.11. Reached home is already 2pm and what followed was a daily rutine for me. 12th.Feb.12. (Sun.) 2220hrs. Yesterday (Sat.) went to JMB office to clear a bit of the paper works like getting ready the lst. qtr. statements and getting the cheque to pay up the TNB bill etc., in the marning part as for the afternoon it is the normal routine. Today is Sunday, stayed at home for the whole day except the evening walk. Tried to got to the Kepong lake garden for the evening walk but the traffic was too heavy so we turned back to our Metropolitan garden. So another week is gone. 15th.Feb.12. (Wed.) 2220hrs. Monday, busy with the JMB office for the morning part. Tuesday, went to town at 1044hrs train for a short break after remaining in the Ipoh Road for so many days. Asked the roof repair man to come to look at the roof leak at the P4D1 but he is unable to come due to his eyes problem, will come on Friday. Went to a coleague's house to discuss about the statement/ invoice of the lst.qtr for 2012. That had taken up the whole morning. 19th.Feb.12. (Sun.) 2215hrs. It had been quite busy for the last few days for the JMB affairs. AGM for 2012 was held on Sat. 18th. Feb. The turn-out was very poor. Today Sunday GAO association held its committee members meeting befor the AGM for 2012 at 2pm at the association premise to prepare for the new set of committee members for the next two years. 23rd.Feb.12. (Thu.) 2145hrs. Nothing special happening in the last three days. Had been quite busy running between home and the JMB office because the clerk had gone to see the doctor in the general hospital and getting the roof repairer to mend the leak in the block etc. This morning I went to the govt. clinik to see the doctor for my urine test. Two weeks ago when seeing the doctor for the routine check-up I told the doc. that the colour of my urine is yellowish, so he sent me for a urine test and it was found that there is a small trace of blood in it, so he told me to come again in two weeks time for another test. Unfortunately it was found it conatin more blood in it in today's test, so he is sending me to Selayang hospital for a X-ray on the 27th. Feb.. 26th.Feb.12. (Sun.) 0815hrs. Loving Sunday morning. It is quiet and peaceful. It seems that the dog-barking is kept to its minimum otherwise the first thing one hears is the barkings of the dogs. Yesterday evening went to the KL Sentul by train and explore the surroungding area just to familiary what is going on there. The area is developing tremendously. It is definitely going to be another mear business centre of the KL city. Due to the composition of the populations there I think it is really not an intelligent place to live in. 28th.Feb.12. (Tue.) 0920hrs. Just rang up the Selayang Hospital X ray department to find out whether the X ray film taken yesterday is ready for collection or not. The answer is that the printing machine is having some problem so ask me to phone again in the afternoon. The two days of medication and controlled diet (without solid food) before the X ray made me quite weak. Eatings after the X ray made me fresh as before again. Hope that there will be no big problem. 1st.Mar.12. (Thu.) 0435hrs. Went to Seleyang Hospital to collect the X ray film and will see the doctor today. It was a rainny day yesterday. In spite of the rain I still went for my evening walk under the shops verenda up to the Batu Village KTM station and took the train back. Luckily found an umbrella in the station when I alighted the train, that saved me from being drenched form the Batu Kentonmen station to the house. lst..Mar.12. (Thu.) 2310jrs. The doctor had seen the X-ray film and read the report and told me that there is nothing wrong with me. He asked me to continue monitoring my urine and see whether there is any change in its colour. So it is a relief for me. 5th.Mar.12. (Mon.) 2120hrs. 2nd.Mar. Fri. went to land office to pay the land tax for P4D1. Because I went by bus, so it took me the whole morning to finish the job. 3rd.Mar. Sat. Nothing special. 4th.Mar. Sun. Went to mom's friend's son tortoureous wedding dinner at Jinjang chinese restaurant. 5th.Mar. Mon. After the drinking and eating on the wedding dinner, it makes me feel uncomfortable for the whole day until after the evening walk. It is quite ok now. 8th.Mar.12. (Thu.) 0300hrs. 6th. had been busy with the JMB administrative matters like sending out demand letters to unit owners who owes the maintenance fees. 7th. went downtown to spend the morning part of the day. It rained contineously from about five right up to about 9pm. No evening walk. 10th.Mar.12. (Sat.) 1220hrs. Life had been peaceful and quiet for the past two days. The weather had been good as well. Its was cloudy. We are now ready to go to the airport tonight to catch the plane to China. The weather there seems to be very cold but we will make the best of it. We are ready. 18th.Mar.l2. (Sun.) 2235hrs. Returned from a week's field study of the Chinese History. I had studied it from the book when I was at school and now I went to the acturl places concerned. Qingdao was taken from the Ching dynasty by Germany at the end of 19 century and occupied it right up to the end of the first world war when Germany lost the war. The League of Nations past it to the Japanese when they split German's possession at the end of the war. The Chinese got it back after the end of the VWll and the KMT govt. let the American to use it as a naval base. It only returned back to the Chinese after the liberation of the enclave by the PLA. The second place I was most interested to visit is Qufu the Confucius's old home, Confucius Temple and Confucius Cemetery where only his decendants were allowed to be buried. I am fortunate enough to get a genuine white wine that is brewed according to the formula used by the Kong family. (Kong is the actual surname of Confucius.) We also climbed the Mt. Taisan which is said that only the worthy emperors of China were allowed to go up there to pray. Beside that we went to see part of the Yellow River that passes through the Jinan city. In a nutshell we enjoyed the tour very much inspite of the fact that our legs were swollen with so much of walking. 22nd.Mar.12. 2225hrs. Completely grounded by the flu for the last three days, only now I feel a bit better. Luckily I don't have to see the doctor but by taking two panadol three times a day. Hope that by tomorrow it will be completely OK. 24th.Mar.12. 1920hrs. Feeling much better today. This morning went to the Tmn. Rainbow small garden for some exercise. Other than that just stayed in. 26th.Mar.12. 2010hrs. Still feel weak after a week of flu followed by the cough. Yesterday went to the GAO assn. annual meeting plus the commitee members election. It went on smoothly as usual. One resolution is to give Heng Jin a birthday party in Sept. to commemorate his 81st. birthday as one of the founder members of the assn. I will head the organising committee for the preparation of the party. 29th.Mar.12. 2225hrs. Went to see the govt. doc. at the Kampong Batu for my coughyesterday. The cough really made me uncomfortable. So remained at home for the whole day. No evening walk no nothing. After taking the medicine, feel much better. Since the weather is fine so went to the taman for a small stroll 3rd.Apr.12. (Tue.) 1625hrs. 1st.Apr. (Sun.) Went to Melaka for Qingmin. The battery of Unser went flat in Machap new villege. At first we arrived at Jelutong but there was a heavy traffic jam, so we decided to go to Machap Baru to visit Ah Mok family. As we passed Machap Baru new villege we stopped at a coffee shop for a light breadfast. When we wanted to proceed to Ah Mok's house the vehicle failed to start. The local there helped us to get a machinic to replace the battery. We were really lucky it happened in the Chinese new villege otherwise you can just imagine. After visiting Ah Mokl's family it was over 10 o'clock and when we went to do the praying it was quite unbearable of the hot sun. We went our way hurriedly with my all the graves. I apologised for being late this year and we will start from KL earlier next year. This year we started off at 6.30am from EM's house while last year we arrived at Jelutong while it was still dark. 2nd.Apr.(Mon.) stayed at home after yesterday's hatic day. Through the CNTV I have learnt that the Chinese had not been totally sleeping in the last five thousand years of their history. They have the brain and a pair of good hands with which they can produce beautiful things. At this point of time the only thing the Chinese should do is to produce the war weaponries as good as if not better than the West and their have got.)

Start Here Pa.

Through the CNTV I have learnt that the Chinese had not been totally sleeping in the past five thousand years of their history. They have the brain and a pair of good hands with which they can create beautiful things. At this point of time the only thing the Chinese should do is to produce the war weaponries as good as if not better than the West have got.

29th.May.12. (Tue.) 0735hrs.

Sunday, the wowan section of the GAO assn. held a small party for the mothers' day. As usual the small makan and some games for the children etc. It was an enjoyable gathering. At the same time we watched the Thomas Cup final match between China and South Korea. All of us were very happy to see how the Chinese badminton players trashed the South Korean. The Chinese team is very much superior than the South Korean team in term of physical fittness and skill of playing the game. Hope that the Chinese national football team will be as formidable as well after the clean-up operation. Monday, it was a quiet day until the arrival of my uncle's twp daughters. They brought two bottles of sweet wine from Meleka for us for cooking purposes. We chatted until 3pm and took them for a Mamak curry lunch. We took them round the Metropolitan garden and a visit to the Gao assn. premises for a look. No evening walk as I was tired without tht afternoon nap.

31st.May.12. (Thu.) 2130hrs.

Tuesday lunch time went to the KLIA to fetch the five grand sons and daughters. They ate a late lunch at about 1530hrs. SS took them to the Metropolitan garden in the evening, then rested and went to dinner without dinner. They stayed home in the day and taken to Jalan Aloa by EM and Peter for dinner on the Malaysian hawker food. Today they were taken out by SS for the whole day and now(2135hrs) EM and Peter are coming to take them to pass the night in their hous.

2nd.June.12 (Sat.)1020hrs.

Yesterday (Fri) since mom was going to Jinjang market so I hitched a ride for my yee mee breakfast. After lunch mom and I went to the stampping dept. to frank the rental agreement. No evening walk, poceeded to EM's house for Peter's birthday roast-pig dinner party. The children were there too. We left the house at twelve midnight.

Today is a public holiday, Agong's birthday.

5th.Jun.12. (Tue.) 0940h.

Sunday, the grand children left for Penang in the morning. Went to the assn. to see the children doing the Chinese calligraphy practices. I also wanted to know what is new on the callighraphy side. I have lost touch with the subject for a long time.

Monday, went to Lumut by bus alone, just to see how the small town looks like now. I saw a small portion of the town only. Without a car one can only walk so much. It took four hours to reach there and another four hours to come back. By the time I reached homw it was 10pm already. It has improved a lot with new jetty for tourists to go to Pangkoh Island. I started off at 9.15am from Pudu Raya new bus station. However I enjoyed the trip, it made me tired and something new to do.

8th.Jun.12. (Fri.) 1320hrs.

Mon.& Tue. mainly stayed home except going to P4D1 to collect maintenance fees for banking. Thursday, went to Melaka to show them my mother's and father's graveyards particularly to the youngest fellow. Then went to Machap Bahru to show them to Ah Mok's wife as to how they look like. She gave us five durians and up to this time they are still there intact. Came back from Machap we met up with Lip Wern in the Air Kroh Melaka wonderland. It is a new amusement park situated in the site just newly cleared in the former forest reserved land. I still remember the Air Kroh area was a thick jungle with plenty of large and tall trees but now it is developed into human housing estates. After the swimming went to a restaurant for dinner and went to my sister's house to see how she is like. We finally reached home at about 1030pm.

12th.Jun.12. (Tue.) 2325hrs.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, just lazing around at home feeling so tired-like about the trip to Melaka particularly to the wonderland where we have to wait for the children for two to three hours without properly resting place. Monday, my stomach was giving me some trouble after eating the mutton curry. I even missed my evening walk. Today (Tue.) although not 100% to the mark but still went for a 1 1/2 hrs slow evening walk and feel much better now.

15th.Jun.12. (Fri.) 2335hrs.

Wed. and Thu. were two free days. Don't remember of doing anything in particular. Wed. went to the JMB office to check on the clerk to see whether she comes to the office in time or not. Thu. went to town to while the time away. As I had said earlier that it is very fortunate that I can read Chinese. Take today for example I surfed the Chinese web site, it spends a lot of time in describing the preparations of the launching of its spaceship and also report on their submersible returned to surface after reaching the dept of 6,500 meters undersea. The western websites did not utter a single word about these things except magnifying the forced abortion with photo images etc.

17th.Jun.12 (Sun.)2240hra.

I have just finished my writting for Sat. and Sun. and when I clicked Save page it just disappeared.

Saturday, took the children to see Heng Jin at 1030am. He gave RM 100.oo ang poh to each of them. Then he took us to a lunch at the restaurant near his shop. The disces were the same as the one that he gave three and a half years ago. The children seemed to enjoy it. Took them to see the KL tower, we did not go up the tower due to the hazy condition. Reached home at about 3pm. Turned on the CCTV 4 to see the preparation of the launching of the Shienzhou 9. Took them to uncle Loong there to see large screen TV on the actual launching. This is to let them see the Chinese style of launching space ship. The Chinese truely "Cina boleh". KMT China could never never have done it. The most they can do is to hitch a ride in the foreinger's spaceship. They would be very very grateful to them for giving such a favour. Sunday, went to look for the "Persatuan Hainan Wenchang Kuala Lumpur" started from 10 am. We took about two hours to find it with uncle Loon together. We were given a packet of chicken rice with a bottle of mineral water. The Chinese govt is building a roacket launching pad in that part of Hainan and with that I hope to be able to see the launching of Chinese spaceship in the near future. The latest news I heard it will be ready by end of 1013.

20th.Jul.12. (Wed.) 1335hrs.

Mon. & Wed. knocked down by the current flu. Went to the govt. clinic and got some cough syrup and panadol.

23rd.Jun.12. (Sat.) 1145hrs.

Have been sleepy and having headache for the past two to three days. Mom also is having a tough time with the flue. I think it is the haze that is the main culprit. However, I am getting better while mom has gone to see the private doctor for better medicine.

25th.Jun.12. (Mon.) 2135hrs.

Sunday, in the evening went to EM's house for Fu Yee's birthday lamb BBQ party. The only invited guests were Heng Jin and his wife, the rest were family member. It was an enjoyable evening. We reached home at about lam. This morning went to see the doctor again for my flu and cough. This time it is a female Chinese doc. She prescribed me for sore throat, cough and stopping the flam. After the first taking and a nap I find it doing wonders for me. I am now goind to take the second round, hope that it will make me sleep soundly tonight.

29th.Jun.12. (Fri.) 2230hrs.

The children have gone home. Peace and quiet has returned. We woke up at 3am. and took them to the airport at 4am.. That was on 27th.June. Wed. It is quite pleasant to see them grow. They are no more baby except the yougest fellow. We don't talk so freely like when they were young. We don't play anymore but to walk to talk and do anything more maturely.

3rd.Jul.12. (Tue.) 0000hrs.

l.Jul.(Sun.) A "bak chang"(rice dumpling) competition was held in our association and you know what, our dumpling got the lst. price. Of course we did not make them ourselves but we asked the dumpling maker to make the best ones for us. We were not really very proud of it, just to join the fun. In the evening we attended a birthday party in the Hokkien association in Klang. It was for the mother of our ex-association president, Mr. Tiam Fatt. It was her 80th. birthday and the ang pow collected will be donated to a Chinese girl school in Klang because Mr. Tiam Fatt is the chairman of the Board of Directors of the school. It is understood that the collection was around one hundred twenty over thousand ringgits. We went in Heng Jin's van with EM. Today, went to the JMB office to stand in for the clerk who went to take the oral driving test in the morning part. As usual went for my evening exercise.

8th.Jul.12. (Sun.) 0845hrs.

It is a fine and cool Sunday morning because it rained lightly last night. The dogs strangely are silent. I think they are also resting because of the cool weather. It was a quiet and a peaceful week, I can find nothing to write about. I had been staying at home for the whole week because I had been sleeping less at night due to a light cough in the early hours of the morning.

12th.Jul.12. (Thu.) 2215hrs.

It had been very quiet for the past four days except preparing the 3qtr.STATEMENTS/INVOICES for the Block P4D1 and sent them to the individual unit owners. Last night went to dinner in PJ to entertain Mdm. Han and her daughter Other than that everything seems to be peaceful.

14th.July.12 (Sat.) 2145hrs.

Morning went to Tmn. Rainbow small garden for exercise. In the evening went to Batu Cave to climb the 272 steps for exercise. I am really disappointed that they did not burn the Chinese made Olympic uniforms as suggested because I want them to be mad, the madder the better. Don't be surprised in twenty or thirty years time they may have to travel in Chinese made air crafts to go to wherever they want.

17th.Jul.12. (Tue.) 2235hrs.

Life have been going on very normally for the past three days. I can think of nothing interesting to write about. It had been raining pretty much for the past three days. One of the unit owners in the P4D1 reported leaking in the roof yesterday. Went to look at it and promised that I will find a repairman to put it right. The leak had been repaired before but it started to leak again. The repairman promised to come tomorrow, so I hope he will really appear.

22nd.Jul.12. (Sun.) 0550hrs.

After surfing the net I am sitting here figuring what to write. It seems that I can think of nothing of significant to write about for the past four days to write about.

25th.Jul.12. (Wed.) 2210hrs.

On Sunday attended the GAO assn. annual lunch meeting at 1400hrs to discuss the arrangement for the day. We have had plenty of experience on the matter, so there was nothing much to discuss about. On Monday took the roof repairman to look at the unit that reported leaking. He agreed to do the repair job for RM 1,800 but so far he did not come back to say as to when he will start the job. Will call him tomorrow. Today went to the Rivercity at the 3rd. mile Ipoh Road to see what is going on there. Well, Carrefour will be there and the surrounding is full of makan shops with foreigh names and traditional local names.

31st.Jul.12. (Tue.) 25hrs.

Went up to FH on Sat. morning and returned on Sunday. Started coming down at about 1200hrs, so we had a lot of spare time we turned in to the Bantang Kali new village to see the village and also we turned in to the Kampong Dato Harun to have a look. We did not know there is a small water-fall at the end of the kampong until now. It is a pleasant Malay kampong because it is a new purposely designed one unlike the new village it was set up during the Emergency era. Under the JMB, Silver Park is well maintained. I can say that the management is doing it with the intention of making it a good holiday resort. Not only the intention but it is done systematically with tenical know-how. It is also learnt that they are installing the WiFi system for every lock of the Silverpark complex. The FH authority is also building a theme park as well at the vacant land used to be the carpark before. The future looks bright for the Hill.

2nd.Aug.12. (Thu.) 1635hrs.

Busy watching Olympics. I am very lucky to be able to live to see the day the Chinese from "the sick of Asia" to the day that they win the Olypic gold medals. The Olypics of the forty up the time before the birth of New China was totally void of the Chnese participants. The strongest Asians atheletes were a handful of the Japanese. I was also quite convinced to believe that the Chinese will never win any medals from the Olypics left alone winning gold medals. We were told that we are rice eaters and rice contains a lot of carbohydrate and therefore make us weaker unlike the Europeans they are stronger. The other reasons were that we were poor and also stupid for not knowing how to play games etc. After the WW11 the Chinese schools were mostly dominated by the KMT whick was pro-Western world. KMT believed that the Western world would help them to build up China so they praised whatever the Westerners do expecting us to follow them. I think the main reason they did that because they did not have plan whatsoever to run the country. They just copied what the West did. Simple isn't it? Everyone in and out of the govt. was amassing money and put them in the foreign banks particularly the military generals and warlords. If anything happen they would be the first ones to run the to country in which they put the money in.

6th.Aug.12. (Mon.) 1335hrs.

Well done China. With the principles of "faster, higner and stronger', the Chincese will eventually win eighty percent of the medals of the Olypincs. They are many misters gooddy gooddy talk about this and that but to me winning the medals is the finally goal of any sports. Bye,bye!

11th.Aug.12. (Sat.) 2300hrs.

Went to Seremban to visit a relative of mom. After the visit went to eat beef noodle supposed to be very tasty but it turned out to be not so for us but a lot of people were eating it. Come back to KL by the old road. Our journey was smooth because one of mom's relative's son who is familiar with Seremban drove the van for us.

13th.Aug.12. (Mon.) 1320hrs.

Finally the London Olympic Games has come to an end. China's medal position is second but to my mind the actual situation is the Chinese as a racial group has got the most medals. The simple fact is some country's medals are won by many ethnic groups put in together. Shoot me if I am wrong.

19th.Aug.12. (Sun.) 1045hrs.

Today is the Hari Raya Puasa, our Taman is very very quiet. Mon has gone to Pangkoh Island with her gang. Life has been normal with us so there is nothing much to write about. KL is being transformed with the construction of the MRT from Sg. Buloh to Kajang. The main station in KL is located at the old Klang bus stand. The new bus stand is already ready for use. The old Klang bus stand building is already demolised. Two other large building nearby will also go to make way for MRT station. I hope I will still be alive to ride the train.

23rd.Aug.12. (Thu.) 0450hrs.

Lately got up very early. at about 3am and cannot fall asleep again, so in order to pass the time fruitfully is to surf the net. The political atmosphere in Asia is best described as tense with all the military exercises going on. The feeling is just like the situation before the beginning of the WW 2.

25th.Aug.12. (Sat.) 0325hrs.

Woken up by the neighbour's dog consistant barking and being not able to fall asleep again so here I am. Lately it had been raining in the evening quite frequently so I did not get to exercise properly. I felt that I desperately need a long walk. It was drizzling lightly when I took the train to KL train station hoping that it did not rain in KL. True enough it did not rain in KL but the road was wet, that showed that it had been raining there too. While there went to have a bowl of the famous beef noodle and from there walked to Chow Kit Road bus station to take the Rapid bus home. According to the small gaget that measures the walking steps one makes I have taken about 14,000 walking steps for the whole yesterday, that was four thousand more than the recommended number of walking steps. It is recommended by the medical expert that one must walk at least 10,000 steps a day in order to keep fit and healthy.

28th.Aug.12. (Tue.) 0950hrs.

Last Sunday I joined mum's one day trip to Broga in Negeri Sembilan. Broga was a hot spot duering the Emergemcy days. Sgt. Norkan from my 'B' coy. was promoted to 2 Lt. transferred to Malay Regiment was sent there, that is why the name Broga has a special meaning to me. It is a small village at the end of the road. Lately the SHORTIES appear to be very ferocious since they joined up with a strong friend. Whatever it is if they still stupidly believe that they are stronger than China and try to fight with China again, it will be the total end of their race. They don't have to wait for one thousand years.

lst.Sep.12. (Fri.) 0625hrs.

Went for a day's trip by tour bus to Bentong and Raub. We know the area pretty well but we still want to know what the tour people can tell us. The only place that we did not know is the little so-called farm resort in the middle of the rubber estate near Raub. They took us there for lunch. We went round the Raub town and went back to Bentong for mixed 'ice-kacang' topped up with ice-cream in a shop which we did not hear of it before. The trip ended with a dinner in Desar Jaya area in a normal restaurant. Well, I forgot to write something that made me unhappy about what I saw during the trip. When we visited a temple in the outskirts of Bentong I saw six birds were kept in each birdcage hanging around the temple premises. The second unhappy episode was two monkeys were caged ia a small cage each in the resort compound. The birds and monkeys were trying to escape ceaselessly.

3rd.Sep.12. (Mon.) 2320hrs.

Attended a final meeting for the 9th. Sep. GAO assn. lunch yesterday. Everything went on smoothly. It is learnt that eleven members of the Singapore GAO assn. will be coming to join us.

9th.Sep.12. (Sun.) 1040hrs.

Getting ready to attend the GAO assn. lunch to be held at 1200hrs.

10th.Sep.12. (Tue.) 0215hrs.

The GAO assn. 29th. birday lunch went on according to plan with 31 tables served. The S'pore GAO assn. members were also present. They started from S'pore at 6.15am and arrived here at about 1pm. As usual of any Chinese dinner or lunch party, it was noisy with singing and loud music. However it went on smoothly.

21st.Sep.12. (Fri.) 0335hrs.

In this critical time the Chinese must go back to the Chairman's thought for strength and wisdom.

25th.Sep.12. (Tue.) 2150hrs.

22nd. Sat. NTR. 23rd. Sun. GAO assn. held the moon cake festival. The normal celebration. Eating and children games. 24th. Mon. No activities. Today went to Putrajaya to take the bus sekolah permit. The global "Sam Seng" has eventually come knocking at the China's front door. So as a Chinese what must I do?!.

1st.Oct.12. (Mon.) 1255hrs.

Yesterday was the Mid-autum festival day and the day to pray for grandpa, so we went to Uncle Loon house for lunch with the Han family. Of course Uncle Loon was doing the cooking. To day is the China 63rd. year national day. I watched the whole ceremony of the top Chinese leaders laid flower baskets at the Monument of the People's Heroes in the Tienanmen Square in the CCTV. I hope that the Chinese people will rise up against the enemy again as call for in the Chinese national anthem. This time the aggressor will be very much stronger than that of WW2.

9th.Oct.12. (Tue.) 0835hrs.

Today is my birthday. Normally I don't remember my own birthday because I never celebrate my birthday. On Sunday night (7th. Oct.) I was given a big and expensive dinner by EM and SS. It cost about three thousand RM. Before the dinner I was told that Peter Alinger and his wife from Switzerland was giving us a dinner. When I arrived at the dinning room I was greeted with all present wishing me a "happy birthday." The ex-secretary of the GAO assn. of S'pore Yong Fatt was also present. He flew in from S'pore specially for this. He also gave me an expensive Sony camera as a birthday present. Heng Jing, wife and his son Peng Guan were also present. The dinner ended at about ll.30pm. 8th. Oct. Monday, EM and I took Yong Fatt to Putra Jaya for a look-see and then to Air Asia terminal.

16th.Oct.12. (Tue.) 0400hrs.

Woke up at 3am. and refuse to fall asleep again. Strangely enough lately have been waking up at 3am practically every morning. Sometimes able to fall asleep again and sometimes it won't fall asleep again and remain awake. I think this is another kind of suffering that old age has got to go through. Come back from after reading the article titled "Eight ways China is changing your world." By Angus Foster. BBC News, Beijing in the BBC website. I was born and grow up in the world ruled by the whiteman "Tuan", so what is wrong in changing to Chinese as "Tuan" now.

21st.Oct.12. (Sun.) 1845hrs.

We took a drive to the Ampang village and its surrounding area just to see what is it like and found that the develpment there is fantastic. We find it difficult to recongnise the places where we had been before and this only have happened in the last three to four years time. From Ampang village we went through the Ululangat area and came out in nineth mile Cheras Road and back to KL. We spent about four hours all in all.

4th.Nov.12.(Sun.) 0625hrs.

The raining season is really upon us now. It rains everyday for the past one week. Luckily it did not creat any big disaster except some small flooding here and there so far. Life is going on as normal for us and I still go for my walk whenever possible. Yesterday I went to Titiwangso park in spite of drizsling. There, the out door exercise equiptment area is partly covered with canopy. The lake restaurant 'Nylayen' is being torn down due to old age. What is to come up is still unkown to us. It is drizzling outside now. so I have to do my exercise in the house.

7th.NOv.12. (Wed.) 1325hrs.

The GAO assn. has installed the unifi and I am now trying it out with my computer. The members feel that with this system on it will attract more members and their family members to come to enjoy the facilities. It costs the assn. RM149.00 per month. We have agreed to try it out for two years to decide to let it stay or terminate the service. Added on at 1830hrs. There are many articles on MZT in CNN, after reading them new thought came to my mind. MZT is not dead his thought is the guiding star for the Chinese race forever and ever. It is the CNN may not survive say in one hundred years from now.

9th.Nov.12. (Fri.) 1235hrs.

Just asked goole that what is the percentage of us citisens voted in the last election. There appear to be no direct answer forth coming. Why?!

10th.Nov.12. (Sat.) 0500hrs.

Got up at 4am and cannot fall asleep again. No exercise yesterday evening due to the rain, that may be the reason. At he moment there is no rain, hope to be able to go to do some exercise in the small garden at the Rainbow garden. Don't like the so-called Rainbow Garden because it is cramped and small and the dogs are all barking at the same time. I go there is because of the exercise equiptment.

12th.Nov.12. (Mon.) 1845hrs.

Yesterday being Sunday went to Ipoh on a one day tour. I took uncle Loon's place because he could not go due a dinner on yesterday night. There was nothing spectacular about the trip. All the participants are the old folks and the idea is just to pass the time. In Ipoh we visited a Tibetan Buddhist Temple whish was celebrating some sort of festival. Took us to a pomelo stall in the pomelo orchard for the folks to buy pomelo direct from the grower. Lunch, after which went to visit another temple at the foot of a clifff on our way back to KL. Had our dinner at Kampar town and preceeded home. Arrived at KL at about 9.30pm. We were very tired and had a good night sleep. At 8am went to Rainbow park for an hour exercise. It is drizzling now, so no exercise.

14th.Nov.12. (Wed.) 2140hrs.

Yesterday was a Deepavali holiday. Beside the morning exercise no other activity. Complete rest at home.

This morning took mom to Selayang Hospital for the eye check up. It took the whole morning. There was no other activity except surfing the internet. Ya see too much of the CCTV programmes, learnt that the Chinese can now fly in the sky and also sail the wide four seas. Seventy odd years ago I wouldn't dream of this happening. Hope one day the Chinese will be supreme in every field.

16th.Nov.12. (Fri.) 1648hrs.

The Westerners always laugh at the Chinese about face, they say that the Chinese is afraid of losing face. Well, in the case of the BBC scandal, it is precisely about face. They hushed up the case in the beginning because they did not want to lose face. They want to make it that they are pious people. I know this because I was under their service before. In order to know precisely what is happening in China one must be able to read, to write, to understand the basic Chinese language and also its history particularly the recent 100 years before the formation of the new China in 1st Oct. 1949, otherwise one will be duffed by the distorted reports produced by the Western news agencies. The reports on the CPC 18th. congress held in Beijing recently is classic example.

22nd.Nov.12. (Thu.) 1845hrs.

Went to Rainbow park for morning exercise beause it rained yesterday eveninng. Went to Kepong satllite town to book a trip to Southern China for 5days 4nights tour on 18th. Nov. 12. Walked around the place to see what is new.

27th.Nov.12. (Mon.) 1850hrs.

Glad to learn that the Chinese can now land and take-off their fighter plane from the aircraft carrier. Of course there is nothing to gloat about it because the West have done it from fifty or sixty years ago. Nonetheless it is a beginning for the Chinese. As it is said it is better late than never.

6th.Dec.12. (Wed.) 0024hrs.

I always think what will happen to me because of my this writing. I am writing this is just to record what I see and feel about events happening around me. Because this is a small part of history during my life time. As it is npw I have been living on this earth for the past eighty years. So I can tell you my small part of world history as I know of. My history is plain and simple. So I am stubbornly keep on writing it.

9th.Dec.12. (Sun.) 1320hrs.

Tt is a humid, hot and quiet Sunday morning. Now the crows do not make a lot of noise any more because I have been systematically scared them away with my catapult. Last night we attended a dinner hosted by the Loke assn. The food was good and the beer was flowing freely because the manager of Tiger Beer is Loke. Next week on the 14th of Dec. ten of our GAO assn. members will be going to Melaka for another assn. dinner party. We have installed the UNIFI system in the assn. Hope that more members will come to use the facility.

15th.Dec.12. (Sat.) 1725hrs.

Attended the Melaka five surname assn. dinner with ten members of three family members. We started off at 10 o'clock and reached therw at about 1.30pm. We were treated with lunch by one of the Gao member. After that some the member went to see the old fort. Sadly the rain spoilt the visit. The dinner started at 2000hrs and finished off at around 2230hrs. We finally arrived home at about 0200hrs. It was a very pleasant trip.

North Korea put their satellite into orbit with their own made rocket and this had been seen as a sin to the so-call free world. I wonder why? They have been proud of their advanced technologies and all the secret weapons etc. So what is wrong with the North Korean's satellite?

26th.Dec.12. (Wed.) 2335hrs.

Having very bad flu after returning from a 5days 4nights tour of Southern China haoliday trip last Sunday. I am happy to see that China is really in good shape. KL is no comparition to the cities we visited in cleanliness and maintenance of trees and shrubs along the city roads. We visited many places and they are well maintained. I am sure they can't keep so many places nice just for the tourists to see because we travelled widely. We even went to the farm to pluck strawberries and chatted with the farmer without any obstruction.

2nd.Jan.13. (Wed.) 2220hrs.

At the end of everyday I find that there is nothing interesting to write and hope that something interesting wiil happen the next day then I will write but the feeling of yesterday's evening is the same and thus one more day is gone. For the past seven days the only extraordinary event was attending the dinner held by the all surnames assn. of Malaysia dinner.

11th.Jan.12. (Fri.) 0345hrs.

Get up at 3am and cannot fall asleep again. So here I am. Have to go to the University Hospital for eyes check up for 8am. appoinntment time. Life is going on very normally, all activities are around in KL area. Less rain and is humid. Unpleasant in the day time and unpleasant to sleep at night.

17th.Jan.12. (Thu.) 1010hrs.

Went up to the Fraser's Hill last week-end. Everything remain the same.

lst.Feb.12. (Fri.) 2110hrs.

Today is the Federal Territory Day and it is a holiday for the FT. We stayed at home to be on the safe side e.e. don't want to be stuck in the traffice jam etc.

Now come to my father's story as requested by my son. He came to Malaya in around between l897 and l900. At that time the rubber trees were found to be able to be planted in a large scale basis, so large number of workers is required to do the planting job. So my father was one of the workers who was recruited. At that time he was only 19 years old. He was a farmer in his native village and farming skill is essential to do the planting of rubber trees. He must had been a good man as at the end of his life he ended up as being a small rubber estate holder. I did not check up really how many acres of rubber holding he had after he passed away because he willed it to my sister. But I heard from my sis was around thirteen to twenty acres of it. He left a house to me worth around ten thousand dollars in l976. Subsequently I sold it to my sis who was staying in the house at that time for ten thousand dollars and use the money to put down as down paying for the present house. The balance 17,500 dollars was paid by the hosuing allowance from the army. (Note; at that time we were using dollars not ringgin.)

3rd.Feb.12. (Sun.) 1800hrs.

Attended Chee Mai's wedding dinner. As usual it is tough to attend any Chineese dinner party because one has to wait and wait for it to start and secondly it is usually noisey. I think last night one was exceptionally longer to wait.

The reason I say my father was a good man because at that time the labourers who came from China would easily became opium-smoking addicts or habitual gamblers or die of some kind of sexual related dieses. Of course he worked and saved hard too. By the age of 30 he was a contractor for the Ong Eng Tiang rubber estate. A rubber contractor's responsibilities was to recruit rubber tappers to tap the rubber trees, keep the estate clear of wild plants, to see that the rubber trees are not infested with white ants. By then he was one of the hingest income earners in the village. He got married and I was born in 1932, my sister was three years older and my younger brother two years younger. My mohter passed away when my brother was three months old.

5th.Feb.12. (Tue.) 0440hrs.

Got up at 4am and cannot fall asleep again, so spend the time surfing the net.

I am not very clear about the story from the death of my mother till the beginning of the world war 2, that was about the end of l941, But I can get a rough pictures of what happened from bits and pieces of what had been mentioned from conversations between family members. He got married again in Machap and that my sister was ataying with them, my brother was given to a nyona single mother to look after while I stayed with my grandpa in Bukit Berung, Malacca. After several years they got separated, my sis. came to stay with my grandpa until she got married during the Japanese occupation roughly in 1943.

6th.Feb.12. (Wed.) 2135hrs.

Rained in the evening, no exercise.

He went to live in Malacca town because he was avoiding the Japanese spies or the informers. In those days one word from one of these people will end up in the Japanese Kempitai (as far as I know it was used to mention of the Japanese MP detention camp). Before the Japanese invaded Malaya the Malayan Chinese here organised various activities to collect money for the Chinese Govt. in China to fight the Jap. so when they arrived here they started to hunt these people down. Since my father was one of the people involved in this activity, needless to say he was in danger. The rubber industry was at the stand still, so he had to live on his saving. The shop in Machap was looked after by my uncle. At the later stage of the occupation he only cmae to Machap onece in a while.

8th.Feb.12. (Thu.) 1250hrs.

After the war the rubber industry came to life again but the situation is totally different from that of before the war. Now the anti colonialism sentiment was at its height. The Malaya Communist Party was instigation the labour movement to disrupt the rubber industry in order to cripple the economy. The intimidation of the rubber tappers, the slashing of rubber trees and even killing of the rubber estate administrative staff were rampant. So being a rubber estate contractor is risky and difficult. One of my father's staff was ambushed and killed by the guerrillas. Most of these guys were the MPAJA during the occupation and it happened that the chap killed was one of them before and refused to join them again. Luckily we had moved down to Malacca town by this time. We moved down to Malacca immediately after the war because my father realised that to live in the remote village is not condusive for our future. The emergency was declared in 1948.

9th.Feb.12. (Sat.) 2000hrs.

Today is the Chinese New Year eve. Somehow I don't have any special memory about this occasion. When I was staying in Bukit Berung in the farm house the only special thing that happened was a brighter evening because my grandpa lighted up the big kerozen lamp. The air was pumped into the kerozen tank and it made hissing sound when it was lighted up. I don't remember of any special dinner of that kind. Of course the woman folkd were busy preparing the CNY kookies a few days before this day. When I was staying in Machap was a bit different because it was a village, there were many more people and also my uncle and anty were more Chinese in nature. We had the so-called round table CNY eve dinner. At that time I was allowed to drink a bit of the rice wine. When I was in the armed forces there was no celetration whatsoever. As far as I am concerned the next two days were holiday. I did not rushed home for the new year etc. In Malaysia we have the "balek kampong" thing in China they also have this kind of going back to the villages for new year. I wonder why people want to create this kind of chaos. Well, that is what human being is all about.

10th.Feb.12. (Sun.) 1020hrs.

(The first day of CNY). This morning is really, really quiet. Beside the wave of fire-cracker firing to usher in the new year there was no more firing of the crackers light previously and strangely enough there is tatolly no sound crackers. Lately the Chinese had been told to be more sensitive to other race's feeling instead of making excessive noise. I think I strongly support the idea.

15th.Feb.12. (Fri.) 0710hrs.

Day befor last that was 13rh. I wrote something and when I typed "Save page" the whole thing was gone. Yesterday all of us (Aik Siong, wife and the youngest son Fu Yee) went to Kelaka for a one day trip. We visited my sis and my uncle family. We had a good lunch in a Hainanese restaurant. We finally arrived home at about twelve pm.

1st.Mac.13. (Fri.) 0440hrs.

It looks like the KMT and CPC are moving forward to join hands like during the WW2 to fight against the foreign aggressors.

2nd.Mac.13. (Sat.) 1640hrs.

It is no harm in paraded the criminals that killed the 13 Chinese fishermen being led to be executed in the CCTV. The action is no more insensitive than a lot of similar cases happening in Iraq, Afghanistan etc, etc.

7th.Mac.12. (Thu.) 0400hrs.

I feel a kind of sad on the loss of Mr. Hugo Chavez.
