Ingredients
5 spring onions
3 tablespoons ginger
2 star anise
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons black bean paste
2 teaspoons sugar
6 whole allspice
6 whole pepper corns
1/2 cup cooking sherry
2 cloves garlic
2 1/2 cups water
2 1/2 pounds of beef tongue or heart

Prep
Cut spring onion into 5 cm pieces.
Cut the ginger into sticks.
Slice the garlic thinly.

Cook
Place all the above ingredients into a large pyrex or slow cooker. If in the slow cooker cook on higher for 4-5 hours. If in the pyrex cook in the oven at 275 for 2-3 hours. When done slice thinly and serve hot with rice. Serves 6-8.
